Well........I was a big "all topics" user. Now it's all categorized into smaller entities and will require more searching, going in and out of forums and the like. For some, that won't be problematic. For others (like me) who are time-challenged, I just won't be able to read as much as I used to. Now I will need to be intentional about where I go here. Like Amy said, thought......I don't own the board nor have to manage and pay for the upkeep; I'm really a guest here.

I think this new board is just like a lot of other boards that are around now, same style, same settings. It's customized, to be sure, but no longer a unique creation like what it had been when Stephen made the old one. Just an observation.

Hey ladies! For those of you who miss "All Topics" did you know you can click "Recent Topics" over there at the top of the list to the right?? It is very similar to what we used to have and you never have to use the back button!

It is a short list BUT when you click on that it also brings up a more detailed and longer ist on the left... you can go back pages and pages.

And anyone who has dial - up, to get rid of the signtaure pics that seem to take forever to load, you can disable this feature so you don't have to wait for them to load. Go to the User COntrol panel to the right and go through your options! I believe there is a more detailed explanation as to how to do it under the New Board FAQ Thread.

As for me, I don't mind the new board. I'm used to change, so I'm ok with it. I too am not 100% for it, but it has some good changes to it and just like every other time, I'll learn to adapt!

Okay...so the new features are cool but I still don't like the new format.

I know you're right, Moods...I'm just resistant to change. It reminds me of the veggie board and that puts a bad taste in my mouth!!!

Wendy, turn off all the pics and blinkies in the signatures. That might help it load faster for you.

I understand this isnt "our" board but I would have to agree this board just isnt as fast. I know its new and I am trying to bare with it but honestly its way to time consuming right to move around here. I have broadband and a new computer so its got nothing to do with that, anyone on dial up is really going to struggle thats for sure. I know we have to deal with this but we also need it to be user friendly as well, I love all the new options and I do love some of the new things about the board. However its just not as easy to move on this board, too much time spent going back and refreshing. I am going to try to keep playing around and get my feet wet so to speak. But as some have also said it seems a lot like a couple other boards I visit, and I dont go to them much because of the way the message boards are set up. So I have some mixed emotions right now as to the new board lol, and no I am not trying to be a party pooper I just see a lot of issues with getting around this board right now for me JMO, so please dont kill the messenger here.

They are called 'bookmarks' now. Go into your 'User Control Panel' and then click on 'Manage Bookmarks'. That will get you to them.

Maybe Brandon is still working on loading stuff which makes it slower but I'm totally digging this new look.

Hey ladies, I understand - some of the new features don't work for me at all, because of system integration issues (I've got a Mac), but they're still working on it, and before long, this place will be rolling just like the old one.

Wendy and Kathy...If you click on "recent topics" it will open a whole new window...it actually lists ALL TOPICS, even ones in the User Forums. If it has a little square by the icon, that means there are new posts since the last time you were there... you can click that little square and it will take you to the first post you have not read... no need to hit the back button or refresh. Clicking "recent topics" works as a refresh.
And for the speed, disable all of the blinkies.

It sucks cause we like the old board...soon we will like the new board. A couple of things need to go. The somebody has posted a reply since you needs to go its a pain.

I second the new board sucking, its way to hard to get around and figure it out, i've been here for a good 45 minutes and am totally lost, guess i'll be finding a new one that isn't so hard to get around. (that was the one reason i enjoyed coming here was because the boards weren't weird like others i've found.
