actually coming to your house? Or would you really do that to your child?Dd has been so defiant lately and I can't get her to help do the smallest thing. But everything she sees she wants Santa to bring her.

Actually, the deal as I understand it is that Santa visits all the houses, but sometimes all he leaves is a lump of coal.
hey, santa never made promises of generosity am I wrong? If he left, say, one gift I would totally understand. lol
I pulled that on my oldest son when he was nearly 3 1/2 to get him potty trained. Worked like a charm cause he was sooooo definitely old enough by then.

I threaten that sometimes, but Idon't think I could ever really take that away.

I tell my kids if they don't straighten up they're getting sea shells. Santa used to use coal from the fireplaces but now bad kids get shells cause the coal is too expensive.
LMAO. That's funny, Laura. I've told A that he was one week left to show Santa that he should visit. I'm dead serious
That's just one thing I wouldn't stick to, so I don't say it. Though the tempation is there!!!
You could just remind her that Santa is watching her...OR maybe you could send a letter to your house from Santa saying that he's seen she's been naughty. Just a thought...
well, Santa didn't come once for our oldest daughter, she was 5 and absolutely out of control. we constantly told her santa won't bring anything to bad, mean kids. well she pushed the issue to the point that Santa didn't come. So she got to see her two brothers and little sister get a big gift and all she had was a stocking. needless to say we never had to use that threat again.

In our case....the threat that Santa might actually come would work!!!

Teresa...you should go to one of the sites that kids answer questions and it tells them if they are on Santa's naughty or nice list. Maybe that will put the scare in her.http://www.christmassantaclaus.com/naug ... aspRebekah did that a couple of weeks ago and she was on the nice list. We printed out the little certificate and later that night I went back and printed out a naughty list. The other day she refused to clean her room so I switched out her certificate when she wasn't looking (you know Santa is always watching) Her room has been spotless since.

I was at Walmart last Sunday, and I saw a little black tote bag about 4"x4" that said "COAL." LOL
DH found pieces of "coal" with match box cars inside. He thinks that they are hilarious. I say save them for when we really need them!
I wouldn't be able to afford the mental health bills then. It just wouldn't be worth it.
OMG, I didn't let the Easter bunny come once... I have never heard the end of that yet. I'm still buying one kid a basket..
