PSE 11 trial and now I'm so frustrated I could spit! Why can't these programs be intuitive? I opened a new document and I managed to get a paper as a background. Now I can't even get it to let me add layers! Can somebody help me get started for pete's sake? There is no Insert function to add a layer, and it won't let me select New Layer from the dropdown menu...I am missing something. What a PITA! If my old program wasn't about to be extinct, I wouldn't even mess with it!

I don't have that program, I work in photoshop, but I know the frustration - and every new upgrade is different. I always turn to youtube for help, and have always been able to find the answer to what I need. If you go there and type in "how to add layers in photoshop pse1" I'm sure you'll get several tutorials. Good luck!
