Many of you know that I am a multi kit scrapper. I never stay in one kit when I am doing a page. I pull papers and elements from all over the place, using many, many, many different kits. So this time I challenged myself to scrap a page from just one kit. Yes, only one. And that was a challenge for me.

So my challenge to you as Digi Guest CT is for you to have to scrap a page using only one kit. If you are a paper scrapper then my challenge to you is to scrap a page using only the items from one of a company's particular product lines. Not all items from that company, but only items from one of their lines. And nothing else. The only thing you are allowed to use that is not within the kit or the product line is alphas and fonts. I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Open to both digi and paper.

You have until October 20 and then I will pick a random winner to receive a $5 GC to ACOT! A gallery spot should be opened soon so please post your layout there and also to this thread. I can't wait to see what you all do!

One Kit / One Line Challenge

1) Digi gals: pick a kit and scrap a page only using items from that kit. The only thing you may use that is not part of the kit is fonts and alphas. Paper gals: pick one product line from any company and scrap a page using only items from that product line. The only thing you may use that doesn't come from the kit are alphas.
2) Post your layout to the gallery and to this thread by Oct.20.
3) A random winner will be chosen to receive a $5 GC to ACOT from me!

Here's my page. I chose the new kit "Delight" by Isabel Mendez (Crisdam Designs). I love the gorgeous colors of this kit and the minute I saw it in the store I knew exactly which picture I was going to use with it. There are so many wonderful papers and elements in this kit that I had absolutely no problem staying within the kit to scrap my page, and that's saying a lot! Thanks Isabel for this fabulous kit!

Another great challenge and do I have lots of complete lines to choose from. Now to find the right pictures and come up with a layout.

Here's mine...this is using "Make a Wish" from Sweet Digi Scraps. But I admit, I am generally a one kit scrapper, so this wasn't a stretch for me. I think as a personal challenge, I will make a layout from say.....4 different kits! Will have to see what I can come up with!

Great page Nancy! Love all the clustered presents and the blocking of photos and patterned papers! The cropped photo of the cake with the number candles is just awesome!

As a CT member and as a designer, scrapping within the kit is pretty much a must. My job is to show what can be done with THE kit, not what can be done with my stash (and I'd pit my stash against anyone's, LOL). I kind of worked out in my own head a long time ago that CT members work backwards. As a CT member, you have a kit and you have to go find photos to go with it. When you are just scrapping, you have photos and you go find papers and elements that will go with your photos........ A challenge like this is excellent practice for anyone who wants to be a CT member. Here are several layouts I've done in the last couple of weeks that are all within the kit layouts.

I did this one for Bella Gypsy Designs. This kit is called Happy Space and it's brand new in the store. I used their Sketchology-Prettyful template pack.



Here's one I did with Rock On by guess who???? My oldest DGS has decided he's going to be a rock star when he grows up. I originally designed Rock On to scrap photos of the really cool birthday cake his mom made him last year in the shape of a guitar. Okay, so I'm a little behind. No guffaws, please. Anyway, he performed in a "rock concert" held by the kids in his music camp this summer.......




This next was done with You Can Call Me Mr. Cool by that same designer, guess who. I am trying ever so slowly to scrap my way through whatever photos I have of the grandkids with my deceased husband. I want them to have their own photo albums to remember him by. We took the two boys, ages 11 and 3 at the time, to southern Utah where there is rich history and nature that is breathtaking. The whole weekend, William messed with his IPOD. When I saw these graphics, I had to do a kit so I could scrap this photo.



I'm not trying to win any contest here. I just wanted to play along a little bit. Please don't enter me in the drawing for the GC.

You are so right about working "backwards" when you do a page within the kit. I always choose my pictures and then look thru my stash (I could have you beat on that Marci lol!) and start pulling papers and elements, but when I did the page above using Isabel's kit, I obviously had to choose the picture after the kit. Different for me. The kit actually inspired which picture I chose, rather than the other way around.

Here's another page I did using one kit only. For this page I used Hot Flash Design's "You Can Call Me Mr. Cool" kit. This kit has fabulous colors and is a perfect example of how you can use a kit for something other than it's main theme. Although this is a kit about boys and their electronic toys, I knew the minute I saw it that I could use it to scrap my granddaughter. There are many elements and papers that are neutral from the main theme of the kit. Another one kit only page for me Cherries!

I should have gone shopping in the gallery first for a kit, because my search in the store didn't get me one related to "teeth." But I really like this kit from Bella Gypsy - Happy Space - it is so bright!

This is one of my grandsons - Dylan - he lost his first tooth on Friday.
