Hey ladies- I have decided to bring chatting fun here weekly to ACOT. I will be hosting Wild Card Wednesday chats- with a new challenge/topic each week- Sooooo that brings me a question for you all
While getting my schedule up and my chats/challenges prepared- Is there anything in particular you are wanting to learn? Special techniques, styles etc. ANYTHING you are dying to know how to do in digi .
That way I can get a good idea of what to bring to the chats that will be tons of fun, but also great learning for things you REALLY want to know (instead of me saying how to do things you already know
Thanks bunches
I can't wait for this! I had fun learning a few things during the weekend crop.
Let me think about it a little, and I'll try to come up with some suggestions.

What fun! I am alays wanting to know anything Digi, especially things to manipulate or improve photos - I am all paper but would love a little hybrid!
Ann
This sounds like FUN!!
Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!
One thing I'd like to learn is how to use some of the various handwriting fonts that I've seen others use.
Once upon a time - many moons and counties ago - I imported a ton of different fonts into Word. But that computer died a long time ago and they were all lost.
Can I do the same thing with the fonts in PSE?
If I buy a handwriting font kit (or whatever it's called) - do I import it into Word or PSE?
Now - this may be a REALLY stupid question with an easy answer! But, it's still something I don't know!

Oh, I'm VERY excited...will definitely have to clear my schedule for this! I don't really have any ideas for what I want to learn. I know basics, but I'm sure there are things that I don't know that I'm missing out on. I would love to help non-digi girls try digi it they're wanting to...we're still in the minority here. And any new techniques would be great. Oh, one thing I don't know is how to use the styles that I get in kits...like how do you put them in PSE and set them up to use them? Whatever you pick, I'm sure it will be great! Thank you so much for doing this!

In your schedule could you have time for Remedial Digi 101??
Most definitely!! I could definitely go over basics for sure to get some new to digi or never tried digi scrappers going
Do you have a time in mind for these chats? And how long do you see them lasting?
(getting so excited!)

Not stupid at all. For fonts- you just install them into your computer- not a specific program and then they will be available for ALL your programs
There are lots of awesome free fonts out there available for download too- I LOVE going to http://www.abstractfonts.com and dafont.com to load up on some good ones
*and how to install (depending on your Operating System) this could be easy as one two three First download and extract all the fonts you are wanting to do an install on- and put them all into one folder (JUST the unzipped font file)
Once you have done that- select all the fonts within the folder and either (like i said depending)
*Right click and hit install (it will prompt a new window for you)
*OR right click and copy all the fonts, go to the start menu- >Computer -> OS (your C drive) -> Windows -> Fonts
And paste your fonts into that folder

For a time - I was planning on holding the chats for 1 hour and doing a run at 11 am EST and then again at 10 pm EST - Both chats of course would be the same subject with the same challenge but hopefully that accommodates all time zones and gives the option for those that might be sleeping during one time to still catch the chat at the other time

Oh - I love the idea of doing it twice a day! That allows so many more people to participate.

I agree...love 2 time frames (although 4 out of 8 weeks, I work both Tuesday and Wednesday 7pm -7am so would be unavailable for both, but there will be some weeks I CAN be there!).....I missed your Digi Fast Scraps this weekend, and thought those would have been tons of fun.ScrapEgypt wrote:-Liz- wrote:ScrapEgypt wrote:Do you have a time in mind for these chats? Still want to learn how better to handle brushes, and using PSE, how to use the cutting tool. I can never seem to make it do what I want it to do. I also get frustrated trying to recolor, so that would be great as well.

Okey dokey - I went to http://www.abstractfonts.com and downloaded a bunch of fonts. I put them into a folder and unzipped them all. When I right-clicked nothing happened, so I copied and pasted into my Windows Font folder.
BUT - it said they were (not sure of the exact terminology) not appropriate font files and none of them copied.
I'm a font failure!

how wonderful of you to do this and perfect intro for digi-newbies!

Maybe we could have a thread here with the same instructions for the challenge &/or the thing to learn with the challenge being due later so those who can't make the chat could still participate? I went to a chat this weekend for a Speed Scrap at a different site (does that seem like cheating on ACOT? ) and wasn't able to get there until the last few minutes. But they had all the info for it posted in a thread on their forum and then it was due like the next afternoon. So I didn't miss out on the chance to join in.

OMG! How on earth did you handle crops at TWO different sites? It was all I could do to keep up with this one!

Yes- I would most definitely keep a thread going and posted for all to still participate in on the Challenges AND recap all the techniques or tools we dicussed
Also I won't be doing Speed Scraps during the Wednesday Chats (Those will be my weekenders So there will still be other chats I plan on doing- I just wanted to get a feel for the things you all would like to see during the Wild Card days
