Scraplift question...

but more than scraplifting...
There is a LO in the gallery that I want to copy...almost completely. I have the perfect pic for it. My question (aside from giving the credit), is it an unspoken "no-no" or is it flattering?

I would guess that it depends on the person. If it was me, I would find it flattering. I've only been scraplifted once - and that was a layout that I used a template for!!!
ETA: I guess if they used a template, then you might should go get that template, too, or at least give the template maker credit, too.

Most people I've ever known considered it a compliment if credit was given.

I've done that before. I pm'd the person and told them I did it and linked them up to mine. I made very little changes. She was really flattered. As I would be too.
I say go for it!!
ETA: I wouldn't use that lo for pub submission or contest entries though.

Thanks, Ladies!
I would take it as a compliment, too. I just wasnt sure what others thought since it was a COPY (as much as I can), not just a scraplift. I thought about just PMing, but didn't want them to say yes because they were on the spot. So, I wanted to get their unbiased opinion before asking.
