I've tried this software. I don't remember what version. It froze quite frequently on my computer even though it met all the computer specifications. I tried it again on a friend's computer. It's a simple program and probably would be great for a beginner and less expensive than PS or PSE. I still found there was a little lag time between my selecting /placing different papers or elements. My friend got it because of the price and because she wanted to try digital scrapbooking. There's definitely a learning curve, but not as difficult for me because I've used PS and PSE and I'm used to working with layers. I found the program limiting for myself because I wanted the options to install different drop shadows and actions...specifically photo editing actions. I hope this helps.
