I make templates and only provide layered PSDs and a flattened JPG of each one. Not sure how many years I've been doing it that way, but there haven't been any complaints so I assume that it works well for people. Personally, I don't like doing PNGs cuz it seems to be collectively larger than having one file with layers. I also am too lazy to take the time to make each PNG. Ha ha ha. But I do a separate PNG for all alphas....learned that it was really necessary back when I was first starting out as a designer about 8 years ago.
