Hey Cherries. Still very cold here. Right now 15 feels like 6. We will get out of the teens today with a high of 21. I’m glad I have no plans to go out today. Going to continue working on getting my Graphic Design Challenge up and I have a few cards to make too. Right now I don’t feel like getting out from under my comforter. I’m very cozy right now lol.
Have a great day Cherries. And stay warm!
Another day with school cancelled. Currently, it feels like -6 with a wind chill of -17! I'm staying inside all day. lol I just hope my furnace can keep up. Everyone stay warm and safe!

I'm curious what are the criteria for cancelling school? I don't know what the school relies on as their weather source and criteria as far as temps go, but it was -16 this morning (calm wind - that was the temp) and the kids were getting picked up as usual. The local news only showed 3 schools affected in the state. Two had 2 hour delays and one elementary was closed and I'm assuming that one is involving some problem with the school because it's the only one in the district that's closed.
Anyway, like I said, when I looked this morning the weather.gov said -16. (Accuweather was about the same. Do NOT rely on weather.com. There's was WAY off and I believe weather.gov because they get readings from the local airport and also the condensation that forms on the bottom ridge of my window sashes overnight was ice. And that is something I don't recall seeing happen before.)
I finished my puzzle last night. We'll see what the day holds. Maybe something, maybe nothing.

6 degrees here! Ugh! The grandkids have a 2 hour delay but also have dentist appts. at 11:45 so it is going to be a very short day for them. We are off to pick them up now.
Stay warm everyone!

It's 14 feels like 4 degrees here. Sheesh! Today was supposed to be DD's last in-person class but she didn't go. Tomorrow is the final so she HAS to go tomorrow no matter what. Today she is in her room trying to finish ALLLL the assignments from the 3-week semester. I think (hope!) she will be better prepared when she does this again for the summer semester! In any case, I'm inside copy editing and working on the sketch challenges for the week. I hope the weather gets warmer over the next 3 days because tomorrow I have to go to the laundromat, Friday DH took off so he could go to my annual hearing test with me, and Saturday we have our regular doctor checkup. Also DD is working at the stadium for "Amazin Day" (like meet and greets and stuff like that) and I think it will barely be above freezing. I was so glad we had the dr appointment so that it wasn't even an option for me to put in to work. I'm too old for that weather and it's supposed to be about a 10 hour day. No thank you. Let the kids do it LOL!

Hey Cherries
It was negative degrees this morning. Not a fan!
It's been stressful over here.
I have went through all the paperwork I can find, looking for things. No birth certificate, so cremation will be delayed. Idk. It's hard to have to think about so much stuff I guess. I mean, I keep forgetting things and remembering them. Like Omer said such n such would be in this drawer, this box, and so forth.
Anyway I've managed to get a little sleep. My world feels so tilted. I FINALLY got my ACOT package yesterday - I haven't opened it yet. Maybe later. It's weird because Omer was looking forward to see what I bought lol! He was such a sweet man and loved to see me happy and in my element and I'm gonna miss him incredibly.
This is twice in 13 years that I've lost my S.O. , and so I have some practice at this.
I'm having therapy later and I'm going do therapy every week for a little while.(I was able to have an emergency session yesterday.)
Grateful for you Cherries.

Our superintendent confers with other superintendents in the area, and he looks at the wind chills if they are below -10 and at the actual temp if it is below zero degrees. At least that is what he said. lol We are a rural district and most of our kids have to wait at the end of long drives for the bus. Bus routes are about an hour long, and the buses won't even heat up during that time in these temps. We also have a good number of walkers who live in the little town where my school is, so that is taken into account, too. Most of our "snow days" are actual snow days, though. Those back, country roads drift shut all the time. lolTamIAm wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:44 amArt_Teacher wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:22 amAnother day with school cancelled. We are back to snowy and cold here in MT. in the 20's. They didn't say anything about it snowing yesterday, so not sure when they added that to the forecast.
Anyway not going anywhere. DH just left for coffee with his buds. And he will pick up the grandson later. The grandson left his snow pants here yesterday, so his dad stopped by to get them last evening. He will need them today. Schools never close in our town, no matter how cold or snowy it gets. We can be minus 30-40 with wind chill.
I Will just be creating and trying to stay warm. Made muffins for the minion yesterday, as I promised her. She was quite happy to take them home with her last evening.

Cold here as well.
I made this layout last night. I found this picture of my grandparents wedding about 5 years ago when I was cleaning out my parents house. I had no idea that my grandparents had their wedding with another couple nor did I have any clue who these people were. I figured I would scrap it eventually but I didn't think I would have any ability to figure out who these people were or why they got married together. Last week I mentioned that this guy reached out to my cousins because he doing genealogy for his family and that he thought his great grandfather had married out great grandmother in a second marriage for both. Turns out it is true. I found a letter which connects it in a box of old letters I took from my parents house. it is a letter from my great grandmother to her son, my grandfather, and the return address is the last name and address of the great grandfather of the guy who reached out. He has been using one of those programs and as part of it her shared a family tree that indicated this other couple was my grandfather's sister (I never would have otherwise figured that out because it only has the groom's last name). So now that I know who these people are, I was able to journal with the photo:

I'm so sorry Holly, have been thinking about you and praying for you. Be gentle with yourself, do what you can when you can and rest when you need to. I'm glad you were able to get in with the therapist. Sending very big hugs your way.JollyHollyScraps wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 12:38 pmHey Cherries

Howdy. Wow I was snuggled down in bed by midnight all cozy and warm. Was 31 here last night. Apparently those temps make good sleeping weather cause I didn’t wake up till 10am.
cousins in SC sent me snow pictures from Myrtle Beach and Spartanburg from yesterday. Wow. They are all in their 70’s and 80’s and totally amazed. lol
i did housework and yard work yesterday so nothing today but playing and making cards. Might slip out before it gets dark and get some takeout for dinner at my fav Mexican restaurant. They have the best shredded beef enchiladas in green sauce.
stay warm and cozy.
