Good morning cherries. That front actually made it this far south and it is sooo refreshing. WIndy and cloudy and our temps will only be in the 70s all day!
Yesterday ended up being crazy busy towards the 2nd half of the day, which left me tired and brain dead. There was an issue with the email server over the weekend (no emails could be sent out or received from outside the agency). Meaning emails to and from Foster Parents and CPS Workers weren't going out. That's kind of detrimental in some aspect. Luckily the new IT people my client hired last month got it all fixed. With that said, some important docs that the program sends out every 2nd of the each month needed to go out again. So I worked on that yesterday until after 6pm. Then a bit more this morning. Now I'm just letting things run and once that is done, move onto something else that I need to have completed by tomorrow night.
The lady who is assisting me with my DAR application informed me yesterday that she was going to submit my application and everything we have to go along with it. We still couldn't find anymore information on my 4th gg (exhausted everything on my end as well as hers, since she does have access to more records than I do, including church records, newspapers, etc). She also was hoping I could get a copy of my great grandfather's DC but Louisiana is a closed record state. Meaning, unless you are the spouse/child/sibling/parent of a person or a court order, birth records are closed for 100 yrs and deaths are closed for 50. A great-grandchild doesn't count, even for genealogy purposes. My great grandfather died in 1978, which means I have to wait another 4-5 years before I can get access to that record. Oh well!
Anywho....hope y'all have a great day!
Good morning!
what a miserable day...cloudy, rainy, windy...yuck!!
I burnt my breakfast and spilled my coffee...grrr!!!
Can I get a do-over???
finished up a page last night and updated my wishlist...ugh!!! It's getting longer and longer....
Hoping today goes easy and I can plan out some pages and more meals...

Good morning Cherries. Sitting in a workshop doing nothing. Waste of time but honestly I'm glad for the break. Hoping to scrap a little when I get home. Have a great day everyone.
Praying for peace when the results come out

Good morning. Yeah Brandy on the frustrations of family research. I have been doing genealogy for myself and others for 35 years. The good parts are finding what you’re looking for and the incredible amount of history you pick up along the way.
Weather is about same here. Looks like autumn out the window but a high of 87 today. Back at home in California they are having strong winds and cold weather. Weather folks even put out strong wind warnings etc. loving my time here but will surely be glad to b home. Tomorrow is the midway point lol.
have a good day and don’t forget to vote if you haven’t already!

Today's election day and it's the first time DD is able to vote! We'll be leaving in a little while to go to her old JHS, which is our voting site. She's excited about seeing her old school too. Aside from that, just running to the supermarket to pick up last-minute ingredients for her to try making homemade mac & cheese as a trial run before Thanksgiving. I am also cleaning up my scrap area so I can get started on Flasher's Halloween challenges. I just have to put the finishing touches on Sketch 400. I need some points since I just cleaned out my points with my last order

I'm glad you're getting some more refreshing weather! Sorry about the email fiasco though - that can't be good for business. Hope you can get it straightened out soon. I hear you on being brain dead - some stuff is just mentally exhausting! Good luck with the DAR - it's so fascinating! I can't wait to see your layouts about it!

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
Glad you got some great weather, Brandy! FINALLY a break from the humid heat!blbabe1234 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 11:11 amGood morning cherries. That front actually made it this far south and it is sooo refreshing. WIndy and cloudy and our temps will only be in the 70s all day!

Good morning. I voted this morning, the line wasn't too bad but they were out of English language stickers so I chose one in some Asian language that I can't read.
The oddest thing happened to us last night. There is a Venezuelan take-out restaurant around the corner from us where we order from frequently. They sometimes cater at the baseball stadium and they know some of the players (Ranger Suarez and others from that part of the world) and they sometimes talk to us about the Phillies. So last night I called to order food and said my husband was going to pick it up. Before I hung up he said, "Is this Louise?" then he proceeded to tell me that I was in a Phillies hype video and that he screen-shot it for me and has been waiting for me to call to give it to us. So he texted it to my husband when he picked up the food and sure enough there we are.I recognize the game because we had different seats and it was one of the worst game we ever went to. So the Phillies should not have used photos from that game in their hype video - maybe that was their problem.
So last night and this morning, I have watched a whole bunch of Phillies hype videos from this year to find which one we are in but I couldn't find it.
Anyway, I've been back to working on my Tonga album, here are the pages I have done yesterday and this morning:
underwater photos of whales
and wold bats we saw walking around the island, they were so high up that they weren't scary but we think they kept the bugs away

We voted this morning. We left the house at 10:30 and were back home by 10:50. Granted, we live close but considering the long lines that were predicted, I think that was really good, it’s great to be retired and voting before or after work isn’t necessary.
I made breakfast when we got home and will be heading to my scrap room soon.

Good luck with the DAR application, Brandy. This is a suggestion and not sure if it will help you, but if you know the funeral home that your GGF was buried from, they may be willing to help. I know that I had an ancestor that passed away in the state of Indiana and couldn't get a certificate from the Dept. of Health. They said there was no record but I know that wasn't true. I contacted the funeral home that was in the obituary and they had a copy on file and were kind enough to send me a copy.
