Scrap a Day, September 17th

Hey Cherries. I can’t believe how fast September is flying by. We are past mid month already. I am taking my mom to her doctor this afternoon but I need to start working on the seating cards before I go. I did some research yesterday as to what size they should be. Today I need to start cutting them. Hoping to fit it in between everything.
Have a great day Cherries.

Good luck with the seating cards. It's great that you get to be so involved. When we had my kids bar mitzvahs, I bought blank seating cards at a craft store and ran them through my printer so they could have the party logo as well as the name on them. I looked to see if I still have the package from them to get you the size but that was over 8 years ago and in the old house, so I don't. It would be pretty easy to cut and score them yourself.
I'm waiting home for a package today which will give me the opportunity to scrap and print photos. I already have laundry going which is another good thing to do when I'm stuck at home.
For those of you who live around here and care, you already know that the Eagles game last night was a disaster and we stayed up until the very sad end. I think we need to just focus on the Phillies this year.

Pretty chill day for me. DH is on the road driving for Avis.
Looking pretty nice out right now, in the 50's. But, we are to get a boatload of rain over the next couple of days. So, I need to get out and get my walk in for sure.
Fall has definitely arrived. Looking forward to a haircut tomorrow. And we will have the grandkids staying here on the weekend as their mum and dad travel to a college football game. Photo opportunity.
Trying to finish up a couple of quilting projects. A couple of table runners. One I want to take to the gal I am staying with when back in Canada, and one for my sister , whose birthday is a couple of days after I see her. Got them quilted and trimmed yesterday. Today, I need to make the binding and get it on. That's my goal for today

That's so sweet of you to hand-quilt gifts, Leslee!
I admire anyone that can sew!
It's hard for me!
Hope you can get the walk in before it rains!

Hey Cherries
It does feel fall-ish today! Barb's right - September is flying by!
I've been catching up on sleep lol I work at 4 today. I have some broken sleep the past few days; I went back to sleep this morning since I could!
My eye Dr appointment went well yesterday - DEFINITELY NEEDED a new prescription! I managed to find a cute pair of burgundy frames that my insurance covered! I didn't get any special things done to the lenses this time, though! Trying to save money, so I'll JUST have to be careful with these!
I finished a layout in my travel journal about my Iowa trip! (I thought it was finished but it wasn't.) I need to take a picture and post it.
Have a great day, DCs!

I agree - I cannot believe we are mid-September already! But it's still around 85 degrees here, so it's hard to think of Fall while you're sweating...lol.
We are trying to plan a family day at the pumpkin patch but no one wants to go if it's this hot.
I accomplished NOTHING last night. We opted for salads for dinner which was great - I made one for lunch today.
Ran to TJMaxx and Home Goods and was disappointed. they really didn't have much of anything I liked.
My son had physical therapy this morning and he is improving so fast, they are bumping up his sessions. Now he has another this Thursday morning. Another late start for him and I. I can't wait till this is over.
Tonight I need to take him shopping as he needs a shirt and tie for homecoming - this Saturday. Nothing like the last minute again!
I'm hoping to get more meal planning done today. I feel like I've just been winging it all week.
Have a great day!

Good morning. Feels like fall here too but looks can b deceiving this time of year in California. We didn’t get any rain out of what went through Sunday but another slight chance tomorrow.
Heading out to a friends that lives one town over this afternoon. She’s been sick and this is first time really sick since her DH died 3 years ago. She’s pretty pitiful being sick and by herself and not eating. Living on Ensure and yogurt. So going to bring her some Panera soup, chocolate milk and mini 3 musketeers. No family in town but she has a brother living south of here about 2-3 hours drive. However she feeds a small feral cat colony in her neighborhood and refuses to leave her house. 6-8 of them actually come in her house when no one else is there but her. I call her Daisy Doolittle lol
That’s about it for me today. Hoping to get back to working on my Christmas cards tomorrow. Sons here for dinner Thursday. I live La vida loca for sure.
Have a productive Tuesday.
September 17th partial Lunar Eclipse

Tonight Is a super moon full moon known traditionally as the Harvest moon. And there will b a partial lunar eclipse in the early evening. It is called the Harvest moon due to its nearly full moon appearance for 3 consecutive nights which back in early days of our country allowed farmers to harvest crops well past nightfall thus ensuring getting all the harvest in before crops rotted in the fields.
It’s about 8:45 CDT so us west coast folks won’t see much since sunset here isn’t till just after 7pm today. if you get the chance might b fun to go out and take a look.
OK. Silly old woman is done lecturing now. Resume your fun activities.

thanks for the heads up on this, we can't really see too many stars here because the city is bright, but I bet we can see this from our roof. I had no idea so now I know to look for it.

I spent the morning doing some retail therapy while DH was golfing. Did my usual rounds and met DD for lunch before heading home. Now, I'm working on my die cut albums again. 1 down, 1 half done and 5 to go. Ugh! I'm purging as I go too.

Barb, I hope the doctor has good news for you and your mom. And I hope you get some time to do the seating cards. This is going to be an amazingly gorgeous party with the aquarium and your invitations!!! You'll definitely have fun scrapping those pictures!

Leslee, hope you had a good walk! Glad you've finally gotten your fall temps.
I just LOVE handmade quilts! I have several from my late Aunt Jean that she gave us before we left Florida. We use them a lot!
I'm sure your sister and your friend will love theirs!

Charleneanne, what a great friend you are to take your friend some healing food. I hope she's better really soon! I doubt we'll be able to see the eclipse tonight either. We're getting dark earlier and earlier every day but it's not getting dark here until around 7:30. By the time we're full on dark it will be dark before 5 PM and won't be light until 9 AM.
And BTW you weren't lecturing.
You were sharing information.
And I'm glad you did because I didn't know there was an eclipse tonight!

Vicki, sounds like quite the project! I hope you're giving yourself some play time too!
But it's getting done and that always feels good!
