Scrap a Day, July 20th

Good morning cherries! What an exhausting end to the weekend. More so for my hubby than for me. I wouldn't even compare my tiredness to his. At 3pm yesterday, his boss called asking him to put in a few hours yesterday evening as he needs things "pronto" for his meeting with a client this morning at 8am. He's in Houston, and was going to have a conference call with DH at 5. So he was going to get there at 4:30, just to have time to boot up his computer, etc. We didn't eat lunch, so we had an early dinner. He didn't come home until 2:15am! Poor baby! I got 2 layouts done and by midnight I was throwing in the towel. I didn't sleep well. He came home, took a shower and went to bed. Woke up to his email on his phone going off. His boss emailed him at 5am asking for changes to be done prior to 8am. So he was up with the alarm at 6:30 and was in the office by 7am. I went back to bed until 9am. So yeah, my tiredness isn't as drastic as his. I thought maybe he'd come home when he was done, but he's still at work. Just a regular day for him. Its gonna hit him hard later, for sure!
Anybody scrapping today? Me - highly doubt it. Got a slight headache this morning, even after coffee and food. Its probably due to my sleep being broken up. Staying up later, sleeping in. Hoping it goes away soon.
I need to post my layout that I did last night. Its for GD #5.
How about you?

I've been working on finishing up some pages I started (my to-finish page is huge!), and I posted today about getting out of a scrapbooking rut and making scraplifting your own:

I should actually have time to scrap today - remembered (finally) MMC and have been excited all weekend, lol! It's 'only' 80 so may try to squeeze a little yard work in but even if it's not MMC have tons of July challenges I can do - working on holiday train display photos. Also need to post my Kit photo!

I will be scrapping a little later on today. I have laundry going, boiled potatoes to make some potato salad, and am working on doing some re-org in my bedroom. I need to find a place for all my new summer sandals… it's as much of an addition as the scrappy supplies lol! I have a two pager on my table that I was working on last night and I'll be getting back to that sometime later this afternoon.
Brandy your poor dh! Early bedtime for all of you tonight!

Hi, Brandy and fellow cherries! It's good to be back! I slept in this morning and have been doing some laundry and watched a movie with the little kids. Now feeling I need a nap. Catching up on my sleep from this past week at camp- my bestie and I didn't get to sleep before 1:30 or 2:00 most nights. After the kids went to sleep, we planned and plotted the day. There was a set schedule, but we were able to tweak our activities some. Then later in the week, some kids wanted to talk, so that kept several of us sponsors up late, too.
So, I got a card done this morning, and will get it posted soon. I've got to go through and see what challenges I'll possibly be able to complete.... if I'm remembering right, we may not have MMC today...? I think Laura posted the dates of future ones, because she was going to be gone some this month. I'll try to find that thread, but if someone else knows, please let us know. I missed the challenges last time, but look forward to the next ones.

OMG, Brandy, what a stinky way to end the weekend! You guys must be exhausted!
We are in the middle of a terrible heat wave here, terribly humid! And no AC at home! Saturday we raced, and I never prayed for rain so hard in my life! The night started good for us but in our second race the car was overheating and dh had to pull of thinking the motor may be going. So, yesterday he put the big bore motor on it and ran it around the yard a few times. The temp stayed where it should, that's a good sign! So, we are all ready for this Saturday! I cleaned quite a bit yesterday, watered flowers, and then made a whole bunch of spare ribs and had the kids for dinner. It was great. My poor Lily was sick all day. I thought she got into something. She kept throwing up. But then I took her outside and when she threw up again, there was foam around her mouth. DS said that's what his Lab (Buckshot)does after they have been out hunting; it means he is dehydrated. Well, since I had the girls outside with me most of the day, I would bring them in each time I went in but only give them s little water. She wouldn't eat anyway. So, we brought her inside and made her stay in our bedroom a while where the window AC is, gave her plenty of water. Then her crate is in the sunporch (that doesn't really get sun) and there is a window AC unit there. She seemed herself this morning but still wouldn't eat. A friend who is a vet tech said give her bread, in little pieces. So, I did that and she ate the whole slice plus some water. Hopefully by the time I get home she will be back to herself.
I am hoping to get another LO done today, all I accomplished yesterday was straightening up my mess and deciding which of the pictures I printed to use for a few challenges. Hopefully today I can sit down and get right to work on one of those!
Wishing everyone a greatday!

Here's my card for the Creation challenge (going monochromatic today) and combining with the 3-in-a-row.

Enjoy the "80" degree temp! We were 90 by 11am and our heat indexes are well above the 105 mark!

Next MMC will be on July 6th.
Then, we will skip to July 27th.
The final one will be August 10th.
Took me a while to find this; and thankful I wasn't making it up when I said I thought I'd read that the schedule was changed, lol.

We are also having heat wave here. Omg and we have no a/c. We have made the house a "man cave" as DH says - closed all the windows and blinds lol. I finished copy editing a manuscript this morning and finished a double layout, finished a single layout and a card. I have to upload them all. Had to chase the kids away from the computer LOL. This is the only day all week that I will be home all day to scrap so I wanted to take advantage. Now Tues, Thurs, and Friday have been taken over by tennis and on Wed we have the bookworm movie day (they get a free 2nd run movie for the price of a book report - this week's movie is How to Train Your Dragon 2) and DD wants to do a lemonade stand to earn money for our trip to see Weird Al next week LOL!!

I can't imagine having a house without a/c. Even the older one (built in 1937) had window units. I'm blessed to have a brand new central unit in this house!
