So I have been totally silent for the past 3 months but I am back, though likely in a reduced way. I really miss y'all and scrapping in general but the last few months have seen a total upheaval of our lives - in a good way. After simply talking about it for ages, we have made our dream come true (OK - my husband's dream...) and bought a property in a mostly-rural part of Texas (Princeton). 14 acres of peace and tranquility that allowed us to jump straight into insanity by adding three goats (one that we now suspect to be pregnant), five baby chicks (now almost full grown), and two donkeys. All in addition to our two dogs, two cats, and 14-yr old daughter. And then someone decided we didn't have enough so a stray terrier-chiuahua mix puppy was left on our door step.
Needless to say, that meant putting scrapping away for a bit since (a) everything had to be packed up to sell previous house; (b) ages to unpack in new house and sort out where the scrap room would be; (c) no time left in day after tending to everything from soccer to feeding animals, repairing fencing, repairing and building barns, pens, an coops, retraining dogs to stop going under fence to visit neighbors Angus cows, mucking up after the animals, and collecting more than 50 pounds of pecans from 50+ trees (there is still another 100 lbs on ground - I gave up!). So many stories to tell of how a pure suburbia family (my husband is actuall city folk having spent his entire adult life living in the city of in London England) have adapted to a life they knew nothing about a year ago!
But as things begin to become a bit more routine, I am slowly getting back to scrapping. I expected to have tons to scrap with everything that has gone on - funny thing is I found I got so caught up in 'doing' that I neglected to take a lot of pictures. So little by little, I will be posting a handful of layouts I was able to sneak in over the last few weeks along with some of our animals.
I look forward to catching up on what everyone has been doing and continuing to be inspired by all you Cherries!
Wow Lisa, what an adventure in 3 months! From City to County living. Glad you're back and congrats on buying ya's dream home! DH and I are in the process of doing the same. We are just waiting for inspections to get done and if all works out, closing would be around Jan 8th!
Looking forward to hearing more of your stories and seeing your gorgeous layouts! Welcome back!![Image](http://www.acherryontop.com/forum/images/smilies/smile_16.png)

Welcome Back Lisa!!!! I know first hand what you mean about the moving part. We just bought a house back in September. The unpacking takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R. especially when you have a grown DD still living at home with her life up in the air. I can't wait to see pictures of where you moved to and all your animals. It all sounds like fun but I bet is also a lot of work.

How exciting. You do have a lot of stories to tell and to share and photos to scrap I am sure.

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

Wow! I hate moving, although my moves have been relatively simple, except for combining two full households when DH and I married 3 years ago. But at least the general situation was the same. To go from city to country like that...awesome! My neighbors across the street ( in suburbia basically) have chickens, and I've been bugging DH that I want chickens. He doesn't seem to agree, so for now I just buy eggs from the man across the street. Out of curiosity, where did you move from?
Welcome back, Lisa! I've missed you and look forward to hearing more about your new adventure!

We didn't actually move too far - we went from Frisco, TX - a suburb of the greater Dallas area - to Princeton, TX about 45 minutes away. Frisco just got too big - went from 65,000 people when we first arrived 10 years ago to 250,000 now. When Forbes consistently rated it as one of the fastest growing cities in the US we knew it was time to start looking elsewhere

Ah. Well, maybe the longer distance to places helps improve the organization! I could use any help I could get lol.ScrappyDistractions wrote:Ayla wrote:Wow! When Forbes consistently rated it as one of the fastest growing cities in the US we knew it was time to start looking elsewhereIt was a wonderful place to live - just too many brick houses piled on top of one another and too much concrete with every possible big box store and highway expansion. I admit I do miss the convenience of things - takes 20 minutes just to get to the local (small) grocery store when it used to take me less than 10. And don't forget anything at Home Depot - that's 30 minutes away compared to previous 7 minutes! We were so spoiled
