Does anyone have any tips for using up letter stickers? I have tons of all kinds and I just don't see how I can ever make a dent in them. Thanks!
I was actually going to ask this question myself! I have sheets of thickers and other alpha stickers where I have no vowels left so the remaining letters are worthless. They are piling up and I haven't a clue what to do with them.

Creative Memories published several idea sheets about this. We'll see what I can remember w/o digging them out...
For one thing, you can make the letter "o" from a "q" easily. An upside down "n" is a "u." And turn a "v" or "w" into a capital "A" by flipping it upside down & cutting a little cross-bar from something else unused. I just Googled & found an awesome list for the whole alphabet here!
You can also use other (themed) stickers to substitute for similarly shaped letters, for instance an "a" or "o" - like using footballs for the "o"s in the title "Football." Use Monograms or Initials of people in your photos. Cut apart "x"s, "v"s and "w"s to make a zigzag border on a page.

Oh, Wow! Thanks! I bookmarked that list you linked because it had so many ideas!

A Pre-K or preschool may want them. The kids love stickers. Peeling the stickers off the backing will give fine motor practice to the children. The students will love sticking them on papers and projects. Most of my students come in not knowing any letters, so they won't be trying to make words. The teachers can talk to them about what letters they put on their projects to work on letter identification.
You could make backgrounds with them. Place them randomly and make your own patterned paper. Or you could use them as masks and remove them after misting, etc.

this is what I always do after I get an accumulation of odd letters leftover.....I give them to our local HeadStart program....the kids LOVE them and it helps with letter recognition
I sometimes mix my alphas together on a page if they are somewhat compatible. I have tons too!

I have a ton also, lately I've been mixing them on layouts. I also use them sometimes as a stencil for a project I'm working on.
That's a great list, thanks for sharing. I'm always altering letters to fit my needs, and often use my 3's backwards as E's. What is trickier are the alphas that you can't alter - like alphas that are inside of shapes. I mix and match my alphas alot for this very reason, but still have quite a few partially used sheets that I feel like I'll never finish with.
You could write your title like it's really long journalling.. or I guess, write a very short piece of journalling as your title. Like these pages I did:
Ashely...love your layout! And that's exactly what I am going to start doing (plus give some away). I made one layout with a long title and used tile letters for journaling on the other one. I think I actually have more sheets of letter stickers than I do of patterned paper. It's bad. Haha!!
I guess that is why I usually buy four....yes four of a set of alphas I can't live without! I especially love the DYI Thickers.
Very cool list! Bookmarked!

That's how I got into this mess....LOL
Actually, three was my magic number for regular stickers, not all, just ones I really liked. I have duplicates of a couple of thickers and I bought 4 of one set for an album project.
Using them as masks was my idea too! Makes a fun background page.average_kim wrote:You could make backgrounds with them. Place them randomly and make your own patterned paper. Or you could use them as masks and remove them after misting, etc.
Such great ideas!! I will use them as backgrounds as well sometimes in a random pattern. You can also cut them up and make letters out of the dashes you've created
