Usually a black fine-point sharpie.  Most of the ones I see are in black and white, but you could use colored pencils, markers, watercolor paints to color them. :)

that's what I plan on doing, coloring them with watercolors most likely.  I am planning on doing them on blank 3x4 cards so I can add them as filler cards to my Project Life album.

My MIL gave me a couple of books on it and a pack of the Zentangle pens- really they are just super fine tip markers. I have only done them in black and white so far. It's fun!!

I always us Sakura pens in various widths from Michael's.  With a coupon, it's not too bad a price.  They also sell some in color.

Thanks Kim... my granddaughter did this in 2D/3D Art this year and loved it, so I am sending this to her.  I think it's awesome and never thought about doing it with a stamp!

That is awesome! Never thought of doing this with stamps.
I have seen coloring books before with a similar idea.

Here are some zentangle t-shirts I made using Sharpies and rubbing alcohol. :)

My granddaughter is very excited about this process, we're going to pull out stamps later. Thanks again Kim.

I am confused...when I posted  these, the photos were sideways and they turned themselves here and in the gallery automatically?
Okay...they are only turned automatically on my ipad, not on my desktop.  WTH?
