I am very overwhelmed with all the scrapping i have to do to get caught up. I have over 300 photo's then some to scrap. Do you scrap in order or do what LO you want to?

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

I get bored and have to jump around. I have several unfinished albums because of this.

I am not a true chronological scrapper......I was basically current when I quit scrapping a few years ago....so when I started back up I just had the last couple of years to do.......and I just bounce around.....some days I will scrap a super current pic ...some days one from a year ago..just depends on my mood
My motto is scrap at will - I find I get more done if I let myself go with whatever I'm in the mood to work on. Of course that means I have many albums going at once all the time, and I know that drives some folks crazy, but it keeps things interesting for me. ![Image](http://www.acherryontop.com/forum/images/smilies/smileblue_16.png)

I used to scrap chronologically, but if I still did that, I'd still be in the 1970's! Now I jump around a lot, scrap whatever I feel like, and I seem to get more done that way. Also, if I go on a trip, I try to make an album out of that trip, and scrap it right away, while the memories are fresh.

I too get bored scrapping the same subject. I have multiple albums in process - Doggies, Thanksgiving, Remodeling/Home Projects, my step-son and my continuing "gift" projects for my mom and MIL.

I do whatever layout I want to do but I don't think about ever being caught up. The only drawback is that I don't put my layouts right away since they are completed way out of order and I don't want to deal with rearranging the album pages later on.
I try to stay on one topic...like right now "Cruise" but in order of the cruise photos... that Doesn't happen. I go with my mood, what the challenges strike me with or something I came across that inspired me for a particular photo. I have very few albums that are completely finished b/c I go on another adventure and want to scrap those instead! lol! But I promised Bill and would finish this cruise album before our next cruise in December... so little push to get it done!

Like the majority, I scrap all over the place chronologically. I'll put chronological albums together, but I don't do the actual scrapping that way. Also, I have been terrible at printing photos in a timely fashion LOL!
Happy Scrapping!

I literally have thousands of pix, from my great-grandparents up to yesterday! so no way can I scrap chronologically.
I like doing challenges, picking the pix to fit the themes/colour schemes/sketches etc, and find I get tons more pages completed that way, even if they are way out of order.

I tend to scrap my current stuff first, so at least I am not getting that much further behind. And it helps that I remember those details better, and stuff like that. The challenges help me with older stuff. I flip through the older stuff to see if something jumps out at me. I was a far worse photographer before I started scrapbooking, so more of the older pictures are yucky.
I am trying to catch up the albums of my daughter who will graduate next year. It dawned on me last weekend that scrapping them in order would mean I can put them in albums in order... That has it's advantages I guess.

Whatever I want. I am thousands of photos behind - so don't worry about it. There are no rules. I am still scrapping pics of my kids when they were toddlers and in early grade school and they are 19 and 16 now. I skip around and it makes it more fun.

What ever pictures or papers call to me is what I scrap. I'm working on a disney album it's PL style so I've been spending some time on it....but when I want to do a full layout it's what picture or paper calls to me to play with it.
When I started scrapping I decided to scrap chronologically. Within 18 months I was over stressed over it. I couldn't keep up! Mom had given me all the family photos in that time period and that, too, added to the stress. I re-evaluated and decided to jump around. I am in 2010 photos I am scrapping somewhat chronologically. I print about 50 at a time and when down to ten or fifteen I print the next 50. The family photos number over a thousand from both sides of the family dating back to the 1880's. I bounce around there to but put in chronological order. The only albums I have completed so far are those chronological from 2006 to where I am now in 2010. I also am doing a couple of scrapbooks for Mom with her photos: her photos of our horses and her cruise with her mother to Alaska in 1986. My goal is to get the first album done of the horses and the cruise album done for her birthday and Christmas. I am also there on both.
I have also started a series of albums on my very short bucket list. I want to photograph all 254 county courthouses in our state, Texas. I have lived in five counties so that will be the first album and yet I have only photographed two of those and a partial third county. Total number of counties photographed is 18 or 19 and five of those are slated for or undergoing renovation and I will return to photograph again. There is a big push to get these historical treasures restored in our state so we don't loose them. The burning of one of the most beautiful courthouses, Hill County, sent me into tears in the early 2000's and so affected many Texas Residents the push was on to save our courthouses. For rural counties which is the vast majority of our state the courthouse provides a sense of Community, Pride, Memorials, and Celebrations meaningful to that community.
The other thing you might look into is PL style (Project Life). I am doing Project Life for 2014. Yet I also mix in 12x12 layouts as I go along! Love it! Take a look at Laurie's Project Life Challenge and go back through to January. You might find it helpful of getting through your 300 photos a little faster! I am doing my Mother's Cruise album in this style mixing in a few 12x12's along the way. You can see these layouts in my Gallery!

Like many here, I scrap for creative release, stress reduction, and to scrap memories. Therefore, I refuse to create stress on myself by mandating a certain "order." I scrap as I am inspired, either by papers, or a digi kit, or the moment. Or even my mood. So I just around, I put them in albums as I create them, and figure they are my kids' responsibility to sort them after I'm gone! lol A couple of topics really do have their own album, and those will be completed eventually. But I don't stress about it....scrapping is supposed to be fun!
I scrap whatever moves me. No rules. Sometimes, if you box yourself into going in order, you might get frustrated or bored as a couple of others have mentioned today. Just scrap whichever photo(s) screams at you!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions.
I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.

When I scrap I jump around. Chronological scrapping bores me. And I think scrapping should be fun. However when I place the pages in albums it must be chronological.

I scrap what is inspiring to me at the moment. I find it less stressful and I don't worry too much about being caught up. It would be nice but I don't scrap enough to ever be caught up, lol. I'm just happy to get a memory documented. I think the only time I really scrap caught up is fall. That's because I have a kit that comes that is fall themed (that I usually love because fall colors are some of my favorite to work with) and by the time I get most of that done, I get bored and move onto something else. Usually not Christmas, because I'm too busy to scrap most of December, haha!
