Hi !! Does anyone have any ideas as to how to scrap pink Halloween costumes for a Halloween page?? My little girl is going to be a pink flower for Halloween. The colors are a bubble gum pink, green, lime green and a sunny yellow. I know I could convert the photo to black & white but I love how my daughter looks in the costume. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance!! Amy

go digital. You just slide the lever to change the color until the orange goes with the pink!

I would just use a line that is full of bright colors, like American Crafts Boo, Doodlebug Spooky Town or Bo Bunny Whoo-ligans.

or just do it in the colors that match and don't worry about Halloween colors. Or don't worry about the clash. I've done it both ways.
this one doesn't really have pictures that match the papers...but it all works
I don't have posted the ones that I did with non-Halloween colors.

I would probably use a mostly black and purple halloween kit and elements and than throw in some pink elements from something else that's not halloween related. Than I'd get the best of both worlds.

Hocus Pocus from Pink Paislee has some lighter colors and cute designs like swirls, frames, etc.

I think I would go with mostly black...her pics would really pop! Focus on different textures and patterns of black and then you could throw in a little of the greens that you have in the pics to go with it. I'm sure whatever road you choose, it will be cute!

If you do digi, I have
THIS kit that may work, may not, idk, just throwing that out there.
Good luck! Don't forget to post your LO when you're done so we can all see!

I was thinking there are Halloween papers with black and green, or you could use any black & pink papers, there are a lot in that color scheme.

I would just not use Halloween papers, scrap with papers and colors that fit you pictures. The title and journaling will tell the story
''Not so scary'' would be a great title

I agree with what the others have said. you have a lot of options - black and white photos, non halloween papers, just use the halloween papers and don't care if they match, or halloween papers that are a little less traditional.
I wanted to give you some examples since I have this problem all the time! My DD has been a princess for the last three years. It seems that I tend to avoid the overly halloween-y papers, but that is just kind of my style. I don't really use Christmas-y or Easter-y papers either. anyway here are some examples that I found in my gallery. (less than I thought, I guess either some are missing or I just didnt scrap as many as I could have/should have)
from this year - non halloween papers
pictures from last year, using this year's new Graphic 45 Halloween papers
cinderella again, using Pink Paislee's halloween line from last year.
ariel from last year using pink paislee's halloween papers. This is the second page that I used a vintage action on the photos (the first was that cinderella petting the goats one). It saves some of the colors, but mutes them so that they don't overpower the papers.
from a couple years ago, using Moxxie Halloween from a couple years ago. Here I just went with the 'who cares?' idea

my dd is wearing similar colors this year and I used Crate restoration to scrap some of her pics....and I will probably do one in black and white so I can use Halloween papers for one or two photos.

look for papers with color combos as pink and orange...it will help you incorporate some of the halloween orange embellies.

I think they would be fun on a kraft background with some black and white. stamps some pink skulls or something fun! why not stamp pink bats?
and I actually think that pink and orange go very well together. have her pose with a pumpkin

I think that using the Halloween colors emphasizes that it is a Halloween costume, and if the colors are subtle or distressed, like in this layout, they won't clash with the pink. Of course, I have the added complexity of matching the costumes of her brothers as well, so that might be why I look to Halloween themed elements rather than trying to match matching her pink costume:
In a few years, when I go back to scrap pages of her by herself, maybe I'll feel differently.

One year Abby was a lady bug for Halloween and I simply used black, white and red cardstocks - making some bugs out of circle shapes.
Another year she is a princess in a light blue dress...but other kids are in Halloween - so it is simply scrapped in Halloween. The big question might be which you want to emphasize - Halloween itself or the costume?
Do you have any die cut machines with Halloween shapes...ie. candy corn, spiders, etc. - because you could certainly cut them out of pink!
Going back to the digital - an option is to change the color of the digital paper to match and print it out - that way you have a Halloween design. I definitely understand not wanting to change photos to b&w because the color of the costume is what makes her so adorable - a grayscale photo of a pink flower is not the same...
Good luck - I am sure it will be fine whatever you do! (BTW - Abby is going as a pink unicorn again.) (LOL)
