I love the journaling challenges, but I'm hanging my head in shame. I got off to a great start and then life happened and I haven't done anything. I feel so bad because Tracy is coming up with some great journaling challenges. I just can't seem to keep up with all I have to do these days.
I know it's hard... I didn't do many challenges last month. But I've really gotten into these journaling challenges. It's fun writing about something other than an event. This way, my kids learn a little about me now, and have more than just "events" to remember about me in the future!AlwaysHappy wrote:I love the journaling challenges, but I'm hanging my head in shame. Me too! I feel so bad about it!

You're absolutely right Nancy. It's important that we document ordinary life and not just special events. Our journaling leaves an awesome legacy for years to come. I agree 100% with you on that.Ayla wrote:I know it's hard... I didn't do many challenges last month. But I've really gotten into these journaling challenges. Sorry I didn't have one for you yesterday. But that gives everyone some time to catch up.
Tuesday we'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming.

That's ok...I understand. I was just getting worried about you!-Tracy- wrote:Sorry I didn't have one for you yesterday. But that gives everyone some time to catch up.

Thanks for worrying. I'm ok. Nursing a toothache and my son has a cold. So I didn't get to do a page myself. Your last one is absolutely amazing. You are a wonderful writer and your kids are going to love having your personal thoughts to look back on.

Yup! I think that's what I really like about this project too. It gives them a look at me as a person, not just 'mom'.

Thank you! I have really enjoyed these, and I think half the fun is not knowing what the prompt is going to be. I actually went out on the internet yesterday looking for a prompt, but found it wasn't as much of a challenge if I picked the topic myself. I love what you come up with, and i've enjoyed everyone's take on the prompts.-Tracy- wrote:Ayla wrote:That's ok...I understand. I hope you're feeling better and your son gets well soon too. It's so tough when the kids don't feel good, and even more so when you don't feel good either!
I'm sorry to hear you and your son are not feeling well too.
I agree with those replies regarding our journaling.
My mom recently sent me papers/pics, etc. about our heritage. In it was an old newspaper article of a story told by my great-great-great grandma. She told of what it was like to migrate in a stage coach and what life was like when they got to their destination. I don't have a picture of her, but I have one of her daughter, my great-great grandma. I got so absorbed reading what her life was like...and feeling like a fluffy-butt for all the conveniences I enjoy today.
It just made me realize how important it is to write about myself for the sake of my future generations.
