Albums for bulky scrappers

What albums are you all using? I scrap bulky. I really thought the Scrapbook Box by Pioneer was for me - I really WANT an enclosed d-ring album to ensure my pages stay dust free, etc. However, after buying one I can only fill the album about 2/3 full with the pages included. Even at that I can't quite get the album tied shut.

No one seems to make an album in a box for a bulky scrapper. I told DH that we need to find the hardware for D-ring binders - can't be that hard, and then he can build us albums out of wood or something like that.

Open to suggestions. Meanwhile - I will just keep putting them in plastic totes.

some one told me that a 3 ring binder was good for bulky, but I haven't tried it yet.

I have bulky pages, too. I like using albums with 3 rings. I think they make them with a wider spine for the ring fastener. I take advantage of the extra room for my thick pages. :winkb: American Crafts makes a nice 3 ring album. Also, MM has some that are 3 ring. You have to read when buying theirs because some of them are post bound. The albums from the Paperie line were 3 ring and very nice quality for the retail of $19.99. I also picked up the one for their Cloe's Closet line and it is also a three ring album.

I am sure their are other manufacturer's that make 3 ring albums but I am happy with the quality of those and haven't looked further. :winkb:

I've been using the D-ring 3 ring binders. I won't buy the other type now. I got them from RitzCamera.com. They have 12x12 and 8.5x11, and probably other sizes and styles. They are reasonably priced, too.

I swear by 3 ring binders. I normally by the pioneer brand from a camera website. I spend about $15/album. Can't beat it.

I'm finishing up a thick album. Had to add extra pages using the extenders. What a pain in the butt. I got it all taken apart and then had to get hubby to help me get it back together after adding the extra pages. I will never buy a post bound album again! From now on, it's 3 ring for me. I've got to check out prices at some of the places the cherries suggested.

I have never used 3 ring albums, only post-bound. Can someone let me know the pros and cons? Thanks.

I still like creative memories. I have found they hold together better than any of the others
