Hello and happy New Year’s Eve!

I’m really late getting here today. It’s 3 pm here so many of you are eating dinner already. :)

I took a bad tumble last night. The chickens weren’t cooperative and I was waiting in the car so we could take the gifts to my BFF and her granddaughter. So I got out of the car and got over to where one of the chickens was and scooted her towards Steve so he could catch her. I turned to leave that section and got my left leg over the netting just fine. But my right boot caught the netting and down I went. Banged my head on a muddy bucket and all my weight landed on my knee. It hurt so bad that I was afraid I’d broken something. But thankfully I didn’t. I had my big fluffy winter coat on and I had my Santa had on which took the brunt of the bucket for me.

I was so mad at myself. And the birds were all freaking out too. Some were outside of the coops, some were in and it was massive chaos. Steve was trying to get me up and I couldn’t get up. I told him to take care of the birds and I’d just sit there. It took him awhile to help me get up but we made it. My BFF lives just a half mile away so I stayed in the car while he took the gifts in.  I was still hurting but could move my leg just fine. We figured if I couldn’t make it up the stairs to the house I could stay in the cabin. But I did fine. Went straight to bed with a bag of frozen strawberries and Tylenol along with some cream that has Advil in it that we get by prescription.

Thankfully today I’ve been moving around and haven’t even needed Tylenol! But I’m taking it slow and easy! I got more of my scrappy stuff here and I’m all set up. I have 2 challenges I want to finish before midnight. I might make it! Lol!

We will just be hanging out by ourselves. Might watch a ball drop somewhere. No real traditions here. I’m liking the open the door and let the old out and the new in! I’m very grateful that I’m not having surgery or on crutches after last night! Very grateful!!!!

Can’t believe it’s already 2025!!! Time is definitely flying by!!!
Ouch Ginni. Glad you are doing better today and hope by tomorrow you feel even better.

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

in my neck of the woods, lol, January is foggy. Not as bad as it once was since a lot of the tulle areas have been destroyed for houses but still a valley where two rivers meet so foggy a lot. Used to worry myself sick about my kids driving in the fog when they were younger.  Made night driving scary for sure.,

not much today.  Grocery store and then either a long walk or work in the back yard.  Too old for both in same day.  I’m always still up at midnight so I’ll see the old year out and let the new guy in.   Boys will b here tomorrow for traditional ham and  scalloped potatoes dinner.  Probably football too.  lol

my New Year’s resolution is to try harder to do the monthly challenges on here.  I always have good intentions but as the old saying goes , the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions.  lol

have a good Tuesday and a safe and happy New Years Eve
I love that poem! Enjoy your time with the boys and that yummy dinner. I think I should have the same New Year's resolution about scrapping and the challenges!

Happy Scrapping!
