Hi! I live in Las Vegas, NV now too. I recently moved back here from MO & KS where scrap stores and patrons were much friendlier as well! We should get together! ~Darla:)

I think anytime you get around other people, of any age, you risk highschool-ness. Sucks but true.
I do feel like the majority of the time I've done scrapbooking things people have been really nice! I'm not outgoing either... but managed to have fun and chat with new people.

Re: *Scrap SNOBS?!*
That is horrible. I used to host scrapbook events and I spent the better part of my day walking around and talking to everyone. I alsways made sure to introduce ladies that ended up sitting together but did not kow each other. I did have the benefit of a small town and tried to group people with common interests, families, etc together.

We arrived an hour late and the only place was a table away from the rest of the scrappers. We had fun together and it go rid of my crop withdraws at the time. I did meet a very nice gentleman who had not one but two Revolutions and he struck a conversation with me about my Revolution. It was a very quiet group of ladies and one gentleman. They all must have been working very hard.

I'm lucky I go to a crop once a month with a great group of ladies that welcomes everyone with open arms! So any of you in Houston are welcome anytime. We love newcomers and hope you'll become a regular! It is a CM Group in which everyone uses outside products, and we have a wonderful lunch in which we include everyone at the table. So PM me and I'll let you know when and where. I've recently found another that is put on by a great group of ladies as part of their church's Women's Ministry and are also a lovely group of women that just get together to have fun and crop. Again in the Houston area. I went the first time last month and had a ball. I'll give out the info and website on that one too, just PM me.

I have had one experience like you many have written about since becoming an adult, happened two years ago. It isn't fun for people to treat you so badly. In fact I got so disgusted with treatment by one lady, I said something not so nice back to her. No two wrongs don't make a right, but I had gotten it all evening. She shortly left after what I said to her. Recently I had to attend a function involving the same people and the one woman who treated me so badly stayed clear of me. I was delighted.

I have got to do this one weekend!! BUT first I have to get a new printer so that I can print out some pictures to scrap!!!

Re: *Scrap SNOBS?!*
I've never been to a crop - I think the first time would be very scary - what to bring, where to sit. Where I live there are no LSS and no crops that I know of.

When I would know I would be visiting my son for a few days (he lives 2 1/2 hours away), I would take a class at Archiver's near him. I've taken 2 classes and have always gone by myself. They are pretty good about grouping people into 4's to share tools and supplies. There still wasn't a whole lot of talking because we were so deperatley trying to keep up with the instructor but we all got along because we were all learning at the same speed.

I envy you girls that have friends nearby to scrap with. I find myself making too many excuses not to scrap.

I go to crops at archivers by myself because I don't have any scrappy friends. Everyone there is nice . I went to a different scrapbook store and the people there were very very nice and helpful. Since I don't have scrappy friends I was glad to find those two stores to crop at.

I have only been to a couple of larger crops & while I had fun even though I did not know most of the people there, it's not my fav. way to scrap. I accomplish more if I'm alone at home or scrapping with just a couple of friends.

I'm so sorry this happen to you :(. This is silly, but it reminds of the line from Dirty Dancing "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".

I don't usually go to crops (except for ACOT online ones) because I am so scared of talking to people. I end up being either really quiet and a wall flower OR talking and coming off as a complete idiot or saying things that come out completely wrong or worse, sounding like a snob. I'm sure that my lack of social skills makes others uncomfortable or offended.
