Hey Cherries!!! It's getting cold here again.  Not too bad for almost January though!  In the 30s and 20s the next few days but no real snow or rain expected.  It might be a much more mild winter this year but time will tell!

I've been itching to use my Winter Cherry Box goodies and my Simple Stories Fresh Snow goodies.  So I finally got my scrappy space in the dining room sort of set up and got a layout done last night!  I saw an idea either on the blog or on the Facebook page so I lifted a couple of ideas and I love how it turned out!  These pictures of part of our yard were perfect!

Image

On the left picture you can see a corner of the house we just moved into.  :)  I'll have a lot more fun with these goodies again!  The sketch is this week's layout sketch and I did 8 chipboard snowflakes for the Hanukkah Day 2 - 8 Items challenge.  Hopefully I can play more tonight.

Nothing exciting on the agenda today.  Steve needs to go to town to pick up mail and get his glucose monitor and app set up.  We tried doing it last night and wound up with some survey app that he would never be interested in.  So the clinic said they could help him with it.  Currently he's out cutting more wood for the wood stove.  Seems he spends the majority of his time dealing with the fire...  But it keeps this place warm so we only occasionally have to use the "turbo heater" as I call it.  It's about 3 feet long and hooks up to a propane tank and cranks out heat and sounds like a jet engine.  Kinda looks like one too!  We are SUPER careful with it but right now we need that extra heat.  As the house gets finished there will be more ways for it to hold heat but right now it's mostly wood so we need extra help.  :)

I need to go over to the cabin.  (It's only 50 degrees there!  But we're saving on electric and diesel!) I need to do a load of my laundry, at least one load of Steve's laundry and a load or two of dishes.  Once Steve gets his monitor set up he will start working on the water system.  And once he hooks up the sink drains I can heat water and wash by hand here if I want to.  It will take him awhile to get the whole system hooked up but when it is we shouldn't have to go get jugs of water at the mountain stream about 5 miles away anymore!  (Maybe in the late summer if it's dry but not all the time like we have been the past 8 years!!!)

Hope you're all having an amazing day!  Can't believe tomorrow's the end of 2024!!!  WHERE did this year GO?????

Gorgeous layout Ginni!

Well, good afternoon all you ladies!
Happy for the new crock pot! And, wow, on some of the temperatures! Now it is 76 and I think that's what it was about this time yesterday. Last night I had some of that strong wind. Today I heard tornadoes were running amuck in lots of the US.
I am happy to say I've been scrapping a lot! Happy about that! The kitchen needs some attention, since I've been playing around!
I am still unsure about what I'm doing NYE!  If I'm driving up to Jacksonville, I'll leave sometime tomorrow. Waiting to hear how my great grands are doing, they have not been feeling well, running a fever.
If I'm not online tomorrow, I want to wish all of you a happy, fun and save NYE!

I hope your great grands are feeling better and you can go tomorrow! Safe travels if you do, and a very happy, fun, and safe NYE to you too!

Happy Monday? I'm not even sure what day it is anymore.  I've been off since Christmas - and I've been sick since before that.  I'm still sick - and now the boys have something.  DH is mainly just some head congestion, nothing that is keeping him from going to work or anything but poor Grayson has the flu or something.  He's pretty much sleeping all day and most of the night.  When he's up, he's coughing and congested, running a low grade fever and just feels crummy.  I've not managed any scrapping all month - but I'm hoping that I might sit up long enough tonight to work on a layout.  No plans tomorrow other than maybe go to the grocery store and get a few things.  I'm off til next Monday, thanks to having a lot of PTO and not being able to carry more than 100 hours over for the new year... so at least I'm not working while feeling yucky.

I will say that I did hear that ol' Carmen Sandiego is making the rounds again.... the hunt for her will continue in January!
