Re: Scrap a Day, December 18th
I had a day out today starting with a hair appointment at 9.  Then I met up with Katie for our coffee hour that turned into a couple of hours at Starbucks. Did a few errands and delivered some RAKs to several people.  Now I'm home before the rain!  This evening I plan to finish up some teacher's candy bar gifts for DGS.  He just loves to hand them out and Friday is their last day until after New Years.

Yesterday was a lost day after my eye appointment.  Dilated eye was fuzzy until 8 pm last night.

Well dang not only no rain today the sun actually peeked out for maybe 10 minutes.  Not much going on here. Wrap the last few gifts.  Feeling lazy so might make a bday card and paint some rocks.

my younger DS has taken over most of what’s left to do for Christmas other than wrap stuff.  Moved family dinner from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day to accommodate older DS’s work schedule.  Only part of dinner I’m making is funeral potatoes and dessert. My boys have everything else covered.

when I take the tree down on the 26th and undecorate and store Christmas stuff back in the shed, I’ll play country music loud and think of my DH laughing at me.  He found it hysterically amusing that I wiped the house clean of anything Christmas the day after.  lol might b getting looney in my older age- he’s been gone 6 years on January 6 and I still talk to him every day.  To use an old fashioned word maybe just a bit maudlin.

have a less than wearisome Wednesday!  Oh lol and smile so people will wonder what you’re up to!!!!!🤔

((HUGS)). Not looney at all

And I do the exact same thing - tear down Christmas on Dec 26th!

A breather on the 26th will be good. Just sit back and let it go... Let it gooooo....

This thing is like wrestling an anaconda. Using the clamps has sort of helped I think. Except they add even more weight and when I have to wrestle them through the throat. I've got old socks on them so as to protect my fabric.
Li'l smokie is living up to its name. End of the day yesterday it was swollen and black and blue, which started on the bottom and spread up around. It's a sad sausage.
Back to the grindstone....
Oh Tam! Your poor sausage!!! And wrestling the quilt too. :( {{{HUGS}}} Hopefully you’re almost done with the quilt! Hang in there!!!

You should see it. You probably wouldn't want to.

The end is in sight! Tomorrow I have to cut and sew binding.

Lucky duck, you're going to get a white Christmas!

One year I didn't take my tree down until March.  But never before new year's!   Sometimes I wish we had white lights because then I could decorate it for Valentine's day. My son would probably hate that.  He's one of those people who complain about stuff before Thanksgiving. If I want help getting the tree undecorated, all I have to do is threaten to leave it.

I so wish I lived closer to you.  I would be first in line to help get all those things worked out and figured out so you could just enjoy the holiday.

I agree with doing nothing on the 26th -- comfy clothes, the tv, and comfort food.  That's all you need.

😊

Awww you are so sweet! And yes my plans for the 26th exactly. Lol.

Hey Cherries. Busy, busy, busy here. I have been so overwhelmed. Besides Christmas my sister and I have been dealing with things regarding my mom. We have another appointment this afternoon. There is so much to do and I have been so stressed that I took some of the pressure off by not doing any Christmas cards this year. I can’t believe Christmas is a week away. I haven’t been on the boards the last few days I have a lot of catching up to do. Hoping to catch up on some things today. As I say every year at this time, on December 26th I’m doing absolutely nothing. Lol.

Have a great day Cherries.

Christmas is such a busy time, never mind having all your mums stuff to deal with too! Hang in there. You got this!
Thanks Leslee! I am working on it!

Busy days here too. I’m trying to have a little quieter morning after the last few days. But, still have laundry going. Need to make lasagne for dinner. The Seattle DD suppose to arrive around 3:30pm. Thankfully it’s early out for the grandson at 2:45pm. It’s a good 25 min drive across town to the airport.

My vacuum decided to give up the ghost after almost getting the floors done yesterday. New one ordered to be here Saturday. At least they seem to be on sale right now.

A funny story from last evening. The minion arrives with her dad last evening to pick up her brother. She opens the front door door and is just standing there! “Nana! Why do I smell chex mix??” She has a nose like a blood hound!! I had made some just before she came, and of coarse she had to take some with her!

It’s grey and windy and obviously those Chinook winds are blowing off the mountains. Yesterday it couldn’t get out of the 20’s and we are already 46F out. Crazy weather. Don’t think we will be having snow for Christmas this year!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
She is not only adorable but also such a kick!! Love it!

Safe travels for your Seattle DD.

Do what you can in regards to Christmas stuffs. It'll be okay.

Thanks Brandy. I know it will all get done. Anxiety makes it feel like it won't but I know it will.

Thinking of you Barb.  Sometimes, we just have to let go of things and do what we can.  We set our ambitions above what we really can accomplish.  It is okay to let go of some things.  Prayers hugs for you and your mom and family.  It has been 10 years since my mom passed, but all that we went through the last year is still fresh in my mind.
I am feeling so much better, just have the lingering cough; hubby about two days behind me.  Daughter and family arriving late Friday night, so hopefully house will be de-germed by then! LOL

I still have to finish my gift journal for my friend, as of Friday night, I will not have a craft room for a week.

LesLee, Lasagna is our favorite, but can't serve when daughter and family are here because different ones have dairy issues and are on gluten free diets.  Remember the days when food was simpler?  I remember being concerned about the different levels of vegetarians, now this new stuff is even more difficult to plan menus around! LOL  Oh, and isn't that the thing to have your sweeper conk out at such a time!  I hope that all comes out well for all your plans.

Here is praying all our families safe travels.  Have a great hump day, everyone.

Thank you Sharon. Dad passed 10 years ago on December 1st. I don't know what it is about this family and December.

Glad you are feeling better. Safe travels to your DD and family.

Thank you Susan. I know. I am actually surprised that I have gotten as much done as I have. Just going to take it one day at a time.

Adding my 2 cents worth here too. Definitely be kind to yourself! None of the I should haves, or being disappointed that you couldn’t do it all! Barb, you’re going through really tough things right now. You’re having to hold it all together just to get things done. Let yourself have a meltdown now and again. It’s normal and natural. We and your family all love you and we’re praying for you. And definitely take the 26th off! Lol! I think everyone except Charleneanne will be! Lol! Lots of {{{HUGS}}} and prayers Barb!!!
Thank you! And yes, Charleneanne will be the only one doing things on the 26th! Lol.

ETA: Oh I see Brandy will be busy too!
