I am going to say the overall design.  I just cruised through a few pages in the gallery and noticed design then colors.

Truthfully, I hadn't even realized it until I caught myself.  I know there are layouts that tend to call to me more than others and I guess I didn't know why.  Funny how you don't even realize you are doing something until one day a lightbulb goes off!

Usually the design and the colors, but also a really great photo or set of photos.

Generally layout, I tend to like clean and simple.  I also notice if the layout has journaling.  I like layouts with a story to read.

I like to read stories as well even though I don't always have it in me (I cruise the gallery late at night before bed); but most of my layouts usually don't include the journaling because I do the layouts for GiGi's albums and she does the writing later.
