Thanks everyone so verry much.  I'm thinking of those TimHoltz Distress Acrylics. I've tried the ColorShine but theres too much shine and the color isn't true.   Here is the product I'm talking about - what do you think?



 

I have used paint daubers before--little bit neater than acrylic paint but I did have to put a couple of coats on to get the desired effect especially with acrylic.

I like to use Tim Holtz stains & paints.  
I also like to stamp or stencil on mine sometimes.
