One area of organizing I am particularly proud of is my ribbons. I know they're on the way out for some people, and I do use them less than before so they have moved off my desk and onto the bookshelf.

I bought black faux-suede hatboxes at a closing out sale and each is wrapped with a ribbon of the colour they contain and pinned with a co-ordinating brooch. I know at a glance which hat box I need. Plus I think they look pretty.
(That ribbon rack beside them also was relocated to the bookshelf.)

Also love my mini drawer system made by dh that has all my buttons and resin pcs etc, sorted by colour, indicated by the clips. Love that.
that basket no longer has a kitty in it, but all my washi rolls, also kept on the bookshelf.

Now if I could just find a suitable solution for my paper!! It works the way I have it right now better than any other way, but I don't particularly like it, I still don't find it's ideal .
I have racks, and double-sided are sorted by "theme" - girly patterns "boy" patterns, bright patterns, vintage/distressed, textured, kraft, and My Mind's Eye. Then single-sided sheets are sorted by colour.
Any ideas?

I didn't know we were organizing our kitties. I have two, so that presents a bit of a challenge... :-D :-D
My cat is so fat she wouldn't fit on my desk! lol

LMAO!! She decided to organize herself! She climbs into all my baskets and boxes.

Get organized and stay that way by putting away your stuff when you finish with it.

Why is this easier said than done for me??? Someone give me the secret to doing this and I'd always be organized!

Re: organization
Themes
CS
PP
Alphabets (broken into smaller sections as I have a TON--chipboard, mini, regular and multi colored pages)
Embellishments
Brads
Flowers

All of them are done by color. Easiest way for me to find something to add to the page since color is how I scrap.

I make such a mess when I do a layout, I usually don't have a choice but to put things away. :/

My problem is that when I get into a creative mode, I don't want to clean up in between LOs so I bought a deep 13x13 fabric covered tray to dump everything into in between LOs. Then the problem is putting the things in the bin away! I definitely need to work on changing my method up this next year.

@ Scrapmariner thank you soo much! I think so too

I'm with you, emarie803 I hate to stop the flow in the middle of creating to clean up...
the plus side to it is I use up more scraps by just grabbing what's at hand to use.

Re: organization
I recently emptied a pantry cabinet in my kitchen and moved it to my scrap area. All my stuff fits inside and I put my large paper tray next to it. It's great because I just shut the doors when I'm not scrapping and it's suddenly neat in that area. It's sad that I'm excited about this, lol.

Re: organization
Miss Organization here! I am totally organized and consider myself an efficiency expert. I like to have a place for everything, and I like to have things that I use the most the most easily accessible. In my kitchen, most used pots, plates, platters, etc are easy to get to. One thing I can't stand is having to pull a bunch of stuff out of a cabinet to get to something I need, so items that I use only on rare occasions are the furthest back and under something else. Most used pots are right in the front without things piled up on top of them. In my cabinets I have those white wire "shelves" with little legs that you get at Bed, Bath & Beyond, so I can put things above and below them and everything is easy to take out. Similar things nest inside each other under the wire "shelves", and other things go on top of them. Easy to pull anything out that I need. Utensil drawers all have dividers. I know exactly where everything is when I need it, and I know exactly where everything goes when it has to be put away. I'm the same way in my scrappy room. There is a place for everything. I know where it all goes, so when I am cleaning up a mess, or whenever I get around to it lol, I know where it goes. I do tweak from time to time when something just isn't working for me, like recently I revamped how I store all my dies and embossing folders. I didn't like having to dig for them and how I had them just wasn't working for me, so I did a reorg and now it works so much better. I also found that when I do use my dies I have a tendency to pull a bunch of them out for a project and then they are all over my table. I don't want to have to keep putting them away as I'm trying to figure out which one I want to use, so they are all over the place and I am always afraid that I am going to to lose a few with all the scraps. So now I have a small basket on my desk and I throw the ones I am using into it, and when I get a chance I can put them back where they belong. If I don't get to it, at least they are safe in there. My tables may look like a mess when I'm scrapping, but I know when I so go to clean up where everything came from and where it goes back. This is a tremendous time saver for me, and it also actually helps my creative process, because if I don't know where to find something, I'll just give up on looking for it after a while. Or I'll be too lazy to dig it out. So I like things efficient. The hardest thing to deal with is my huge collection of punches. They are in a lot of bins stacked on top of each other, so those I have to look through. But I try to have some kind of a system, like all MS punches together, all border punches together, holiday punches together, etc. Even my adhesives are all together and refills are easy to get to. As my stash grows, I sometimes have to revamp things a bit until I am happy with it again. I don't like to waste time looking for things. It would make me crazy. (Or maybe some would say I already am lol)
