The holly's up, the house is all bright. The tree is ready, the candles alight.

happy Christmas Eve Eve!   Lol. Today is very quiet here. Wintery sunshine and cold between storms.  I am going to clean thoroughly this morning. My aunt is 93 and sees very poorly but, lol, she won’t miss a speck of dust if I don’t clean, clean, clean. I’m 79 and she still refers to me as a “girl” with her cronies at the “home”. Lol

ill bake probably tomorrow.  I did pies for Thanksgiving so I’ve had a request for Apple brownies for Christmas. (btw no chocolate in those. Called brownies due to manner of baking them like cake in a pan and cut into squares to serve) .  Also a request for pie crust cinnamon rolls which are my son’s favorites.

have a merry Monday.

Lol my grandson Aiden was here last night and was saying " tomorrow is Christmas Eve Eve". Lol.

Hey Cherries. Down to the home stretch. I have a short appointment this morning regarding my mom, then have to pick up a few things on my way home. Then this afternoon I’ll make a giant pot of sauce and meatballs and then make my lasagna trays so they will be all ready to cook on Wednesday. In the meantime I have to wrap a few gift cards and then get my dining room cleaned up.

Hope you all have a great day.

Ooh that all sounds delicious! We are having turkey, mashed potatoes, the green bean casserole and DD's BFF and her dad are coming for dinner. She is making a dulce de leche cake and he is making penne ala vodka with chicken. He's a chef at one of the hotels in Manhattan so we are really looking forward to this LOL!

As for me I don't know if I am coming or going. I'm in good shape (everything is wrapped and DH does the cooking. I just make the casserole). We've already done our cookies and DD is making more cookies right now and will make bread for Christmas dinner/antipasto. I still have to make my cards for the family and a "placeholder" because we all want to see Stranger Things on Broadway but I don't want to get the tix now because a) so $$$ and it comes out in March or April and I don't know when they will want to go. But if I put it out there for Christmas, DD will hold us to it ROFL!!!

And workwise...omg. I have been having such a bad attitude - "I'll deal with that after Christmas." I have like 4 manuscripts due in January and just said yes to one that I should have said no to. But it's from a publisher I only hear from 1-2x a  year so I don't want to say no. So I have work out the wazzoo and just want to do Christmas things. Plus DD's birthday is the 26th and she still doesn't know what she wants to do. And after today DH will be off until the 30th, so it's hard to get any work done when everybody is home over the holidays.
That all sounds delicious Anne-Marie! And omg a chef is coming and bringing a dish too! Awesome! Eeek for trying to get your work done with everyone home! I get the "I'll deal with that after Christmas". I have been saying that a lot lately lol.

Good morning cherries. Been just a tad busy. LOL. Picked Jackson up Thursday afternoon. The wounds looked sooo bad. He's taking his liquid antibiotic well. I mix it in his Temptations Purree every day and he laps that up. He's healing nicely though and spends alot of time with me at night. Like he should!

Saturday was the usual laundry, along with baking the Christmas Cookies. Yesterday, I picked Draven up so he could decorate the Christmas Cookies and wrap the gifts he bought for his family. He had a blast. Afterwards, DH and I took him home so DH could say hi to the boys. Jasper is healing wonderfully too after double eye surgery. He seems to be able to focus alot better.

Today, DH went to work and for me, it's cleaning/prep day. Started the dishwasher, went on my walk. Had my coffee and ran to the store for some of the fresh stuff we need for tomorrow's get together. Got 2 loads of doggie blankets done and I'm off to make homemade granola bars, along with dusting and vacuuming and mopping and and and....

Hope everyone gets everything done like they need to!

I'm so behind...what happened to poor Jackson!? :(  Sounds like a fun time with Draven and glad you guys got to see the other boys. And love to Jasper after his surgery! My lil sweet dude!!!
Jackson came home last Wednesday night looking rough. We found a puncture wound on the left side of his head.  I cleaned him up the best I could and put some steroid antibacterial ointment I still had from Shelby's spider bite earlier this spring.

Thursday morning, I called the vet and amazingly they were able to get him in at 10am. The vet saw another puncture wound and they look to be from another cat. Sigh....so a cat fight.  They were both pretty oozy....so their plan was to sedate him and flush those wounds out. They were going to give him a steroid shot that lasts for 2 weeks and send him home with liquid antibiotics for a few days. Picked him at 3pm. Omg! He didn't have two wounds! He had THREE!!!! It looked sooooo bad. 🥺🥹 But he's healing. And is pretty much back to his old self. We are closing the doggie door at night. Pisses him off and Penny, but what can you do?

Jasper was diagnosed with low vision last month, and glasses weren't helping. So 2 weeks ago, he had double eye surgery. Amazingly all he had was little redness. No ugly discharge. No issues.  He looks so good!
