Last of our quiet days for a while.  I'm working on a sympathy card for a dear crafty friend that lost her DH last night.  Also a few DT projects for October.  Nothing else on the agenda for me.  We have a very busy rest of the month with family visiting at two different times.  Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon everyone. Yesterday we went to wedding. It was close enough that we did a day trip but far enough that it took the whole day. So, I completely missed that the board was down. I have decided that going to weddings of young people that we are not related to is not fun these days. I think next time we will just send a nice gift and save the couple the money. I did get to wear my new shoes and  a young person actually even complimented my shoes.

I'm in my scrap room now, but I'm not sure where to start or what to start on, so I might go garden instead. It is a beautiful day.

I know what you mean about going to weddings of people you're not related to.  I think a nice gift would be quite appropriate in those occasions.  Whatever you did today I hope you enjoyed it!

Good morning and Yaay, as my grandkids would say “my peeps” are back! Lol Some folks might say we are a co-dependent bunch but I like to think of us as a caring bunch of friends (who need their cherry fix daily).

Cool, breezy, cloudy and slight chance of showers tonight. I’m planning on going to see my friend up in the foothills today. Unfortunately I got up with a doozy of a sinus headache this morning. A little vertigo, slightly swollen/tender left cheekbone, and plugged up head. Ick. But took aspirin and used my Afrin inhaler thingie and hoping to get on the road by 1pm. Only good thing about sinuses being plugged up is nose isn’t constantly running all morning! Lol

I totally agree with you Charleneanne!  I have more dear friends online than I do in real life as they call it.  I really missed catching up with everyone!  I hope the aspirin and the inhaler helped you to feel better!  And I hope you have a good visit with your friend!

Hi Cherries!! I am SOOO happy to have the board back too!! I have been doing some scrapping this weekend!!! i got several layouts done!  We have had remnant rains from Francine, really needed the rain and it has been slow and somewhat steady off and on since Friday.   So here is what I worked on! 

Sue, glad you got some rain!!!  And LOVE all of your layouts!!!!  I especially love the way you did the title for Spooky!!!  Hope you have a good week!

I didn’t realize how exhausting taking care of a newborn is!  I guess I had lots more energy 35 years ago. Haha I do love getting to see my newest little grandson everyday. Watching him grow and do new things for the first time. Seeing those baby smiles when I come in is the best ever. 

My energy level has me sitting around vegging more than getting busy in the craftroom. I hope to figure out a good balance. I have an in person crop next Saturday so I hope I can put page kits together to take to work on this week. The September challenges will help motivate me to get some ideas flowing. I really like the sketch with a twist design this month. I’ve already got 2 layouts planned that will go in 2 different albums! The weekly sketches are good motivators for me too.

I missed all the drama (or lack of drama) with the board being down. Hope they don’t have any further probs. 

I broke my freeze and had big order come in last week. The new supplies has me excited to work on baby layouts. I appreciate the way ACOT does the packaging, no probs with any of my order.

I’m going to lounge around a bit longer, but I plan on getting in my room in little while especially since I don’t have to be anywhere today and have plenty of leftovers to keep me going haha

I agree Tam about the energy it takes to care for babies!  We were wise to have ours while we were younger!    But I'm glad you get to enjoy him and that he smiles when he sees you!    That's the best part!  Hope you can get some scrappiing done or at least make page kits for your crop!  And YAYAYAY for a big order!!!  After a freeze it's nice to get some happy mail1

I've missed you Cherries!!!   

We have had an eventful weekend! Our all black hen Raven has hatched FOUR chicks!!!  She's been sitting on the nest for about 21 days and Friday evening we heard some little cheeps.  The first one is solid black like its mother and is the CUTEST little thing!  The others are yellow like most chicks are when they first hatch.  The fourth one came sometime yesterday morning or early afternoon.  She was sitting in the only nesting box which confused the others So they've been laying eggs in places Steve couldn't really reach with Raven being on the nest. 

So yesterday when we went to see how many chicks Raven had boss hen Chickadee was sitting next to Raven and was trying to get to the babies.  We chased her out twice and she came back so we closed the door to the coop because we were afraid of what Chickadee might do to the chicks.  Later when it was time for the others to go to the coop for the night we put a bunch of straw in the dog crate and put Raven and her babies into the dog crate and put it in the greenhouse run.  That way they're safe and can't get out and the others can't get in when they're out of the coop. In due time we will put the others in the coop and let Raven and her babies have the ability to safely range.  But we're SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!  We've never had a chicken go broody before so this was a big deal! 

And she's an AWESOME mother!  This morning Steve gave them some fresh blueberries that he picked from our property.  Raven picked it up and gave it to Blackie as Steve has named it.  But the poor little chick couldn't break through the skin.  So Raven picked it back up and gave it back with a little broken on it!  So sweet!    It's just amazing how they just know instinctively what to do! 

Otherwise not a lot happening.  We've been getting rain almost every day so I don't have to worry about water so much.  YAY!  And the contractor next door has been busy working on preparing the lot for building.  They took down a few trees on the beach and made our view even MORE beautiful!!!  That was so nice of them!  LOL!  But the constant noise of the excavator banging on huge rocks every day is a bit jarring to the nerves.  Steve and I both just keep remembering that all this work they're doing will raise the property values a LOT so it's a bit easier to handle.  And eventually they'll be done with all this and it will be somewhat quiet again.  There's construction going on at the end of our road too so there's all kinds of trucks and dump trucks and equipment going by the house.  I knew this place would be expanding but I din't quite expect it so soon1 

I did manage to do the sketch challenge.  I combined it with the title challenge.  It's pictures of our adult geese Mama and Yoda before their babies hatched.  It's so hard to do those pictures because of how we lost them.  Mama was the last of our original geese.    But at least with our neighbor's help we have 4 of their babies who are almost full grown!  They have a lot of the traits that their parents had.    Brings back good memories.

Friday night with my family was nice. I hadn’t seen my uncle and aunt since the last time they were here 7 years ago. JJ and my two great nieces hadn’t even been born yet when they were last here. So it was a nice visit.

Today I’m going to her birthday party, but stopping by my mom’s on the way to say goodbye to my uncle and aunt as they are leaving to go back to Florida very early tomorrow morning. After I get home from the party I hope to get back to working on my layout.

I did get this layout done on Friday and got it in the gallery but wasn’t able to post it to the challenge until late last night when the boards came back. It’s for the 1-3-5-7 challenge.

It’s great to be back with you all and hope you have a great Sunday!
