Cherry input needed- updated with photo
Ok cherries, I need ideas. I am working on a layout where the paper matches the photo so perfectly, I can not think of a way to add embellies or anything without taking away from the overall blend of it. I do not want to leave it "blank". Any suggestions?

The colors in person are much more subtle of a difference, almost exact.

Maybe try pulling a few colors from the pp and add some tabs with journal cards attached under the photo?  Or trim about an 1/8" off around the perimeter of the pp and add a mat behind it?  This always stumps me too when I don't want to cover up the pattern!

Can you post it? It would help me to see it. I’m horrible at visualizing things lol!

Maybe only a little journaling, at thebottom of one side of the page and just an embellishment or two by a corner of the photo, left or right bottom?

This is so pretty and matching so well.  I know it's hard to not do anything.  If it were my project, I might use some fishnet hung somewhere.  Maybe a starfish and seashells.  Even a caption's wheel to his ship or an anchor.  Someone mentioned matting the picture.  That would look good too.  Good luck in this.  I hope maybe I was of some help.
