I have a box of Negatives from over the years. They ended up out in a garage for several years. I have not had a chance to look at them all. BUT , with everything now Digital. I am not sure what to do with them. How to keep them safe. They are organized by event. How do you keep hour old negatives etc. With my vision loss it is hard to look at the Negatives. I need help not sure what to do . I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

I have them in a container in my photo storage case. I can't figure out a better way to keep them, so I'm paying attention to this thread.

Eek good question! I'll be watching the responses too, mine are all over the place... Including some in the cedar chest, that is probably bad!

I have literally THOUSANDS of them. I store them in negative sleeves that I bought from an archiving company years ago. Then the sleeves are placed in binders!
I know that they used to make a machine the hooked up to your computer that allowed you to scan the negatives to either save them or turn them into photos. Don't really know if those machines are still around though.

They do still make the scanner to do the negatives....I believe you can take them to several different photo companies and they can make them digital which is what I want to do with all of my mom's slides.

It's called a convertor and I got mine at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Be careful when you buy one that you get one compatible with your PC or laptop. Easy to work too. Says it converts slides and negatives to digital files for printing (or saving I guess).
p.s. I have only used it on negatives but it does 35mm slides too

I didn't have too many negatives so honestly the majority of mine went to the trash!
