I'm searching everywhere for information on adding color to modeling paste -- like the Theresa Collins brand sold here. So far, I believe I can use paints, mists and mica powders but what about embossing powder?
If you have experience with adding color to modeling paste, I am open to learning.
I haven't tried yet, but I think you can use ink. Stampin' Up sells paste , and they suggest using their re-inkers to add color. Good luck!

This is all new to me. I would love to hear others thoughts and what they do with it. Also love to see Examples of it used.

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

I've added paint with good results, both metallic and regular acrylic colors. Alcohol inks also work well. I wouldn't add embossing powder to the paste, but you can put the modeling paste on then sprinkle embossing powder on top while it's still wet. If you heat it right away the paste bubbles up so I usually wait for it to dry. You can also tap an ink pad on a surface, or use reinkers to mix with the paste. I'll add links later when I'm at my computer.
I just added some photos to my gallery:
I used gloss gel medium and teal acrylic paint for the chevrons. It gave it a nice glossy finish and works the same as opaque paste. I used the dimensional paste mixed with metallic paint and then sprinkled with fine glitter for the snowflakes. Photos of the pastes and paints I used are in the gallery.
These waves are glossy paste and acrylic paint.
These snowflakes are plain white paste with glitter sprinkled on top. The hearts on the right are just plain glossy gel.

Oops! After seeing Shannon's examples, I realized that I was talking about modeling clay! Sorry for giving my two cents when I didn't know what I was talking about!average_kim wrote:I haven't tried yet, but I think you can use ink. Modeling clay would be fun, too! One new skill at a time, though. Shannon's examples are amazing!
Love your examples, Shannon!
