I'm looking for some suggestions/input on adhesives. I've been using mounting squares, 3D foam squares and Glue Dots since I started scrapbooking. The foam and the dots are fine, but lately I've noticed that I am going through A LOT of mounting squares ... the brand I buy has 500 squares in a box, and I'm going through about a box every week (or one box for every 4 layouts or so)
I'm thinking about investing in an ATG gun like this one ...

Do any of you use it? If not, what kind of adhesive do you recommend?

I do I do......and I love mine. I have the pink one. It was the best investment that I have ever made. I was using and still do for small things, the little tape runners. I find my adhesive goes farther unless I really have my scrap on then it goes fast, but that is to be expected.

I use little tape runners and refills sometimes, but mostly I just use Elmer's purple glue sticks. Works great, goes a long way, and when it's back to school I can stock up for really cheap. It works for me, and works great on layouts. It's all I use, except tape runners here and there for some projects. That's part of why I guess I'm the Queen of frugal scrapping But if money weren't an issue, i might have an ATG gun, they seem pretty awesome. I only use foam squares if I want to make something 3-D, and glue dots when I use buttons and such.

Oh, I couldn't use glue sticks, I'd end up with glue all over the place, especially on my hands.cajenkins81 wrote:I use little tape runners and refills sometimes, but mostly I just use Elmer's purple glue sticks. I use an ATG gun. It is ok, but doesn't always work well. Glue sticks don't work well here in Florida due to the high humidity.

I have the pink one as well..and for the most part like it. i also use the tombow runners as well. If you get an ATG gun keep the directions on how to load the refills...don't know why i seem to always forget the correct way to reload it.
I use tombow and xyron for adhesive. I buy the tombow in bulk online.
I have the red one (1/4") and I would NEVER go back! I love it and I use it on every layout, every card and every 3D project I make. I highly recommend it - and if you pm me, I will tell you where I get my refills. Any good framing store can sell you refills by the box.

I drew arrows (in indelible marker) on the inside of mine - showing me how to load it. Works like a charm.
I have the pink one too and I have no problems with it. It is very reliable and very sticky!

Oh Jenn, could you send me a link to where?
I used to buy them in bulk online and I lost the link and haven't been able to find it again.
I'm hoping its that same one.
Thanks

I have the yellow ATG gun that you posted but I use it with an adapter for the quarter inch tape. I love it. It last forever and the refills are pretty inexpensive. I was concerned about it being so big but I got used to it pretty quickly and I can always find it on the table.
thanks for all the feedback ladies! I think I'm officially putting it on my scrappy wish list
I have the pink one and love it. I've been using it for over 3 years now. I was so resistant to it, thought it would be bulky but it is surprisingly not. I order the refill tape in bulk online at a fraction of retail cost. It's the easiest and most economical adhesive I have found. I

I have the pink one and I love it. I buy the refills when they are on sale at hobby lobby and occasionally from ACOT.
I love not running out of tape so quickly with mine. I do use the small runners at times for small areas, just easier for me to handle. You do have to get the knack of it but it's a great tool!

I have the red one, as well. I love it and use it for ALL of my projects. There are youtube videos for people like me who can't seem to remember how to put the refills in.... I love that the refills last so long and the adhesive holds nearly anything down!

I haven't seen one of those in person so I don't know if I would like it or not. I just use the smaller tape runners. I usually get 6-8 layouts per refill DEPENDING on how much layering and embellishing. Of course I also use glue dots and lots of foam in various sizes shapes because I like the effect.

I have had the Pink one for a couple yrs now. I use it for cards and scrap LO backgrounds.
I use my Herma repositionable (10 yrs now) for the rest of scrapping b/c I need to move stuff around after I put things down crooked...
