Re: Scrap Room Advice Please
My friend and I put in our wood flooring in our downstairs...it's not that hard ;) And we had a lot of cuts to make because of the room transition.

Health....tell him health reasons the wood is better!!!! Maybe he'll do the entire house then!!! I lost in the mobile home on laminate throughout. Now he looks at me with this ahhhh dah look. Fortunately we agree when the house is built at the ranch it is either stained concrete or tile. I love love stained concrete....I've seen one floor that looked like leather. It was beautiful.

I like that look too but isn't it COLD? I'm a big ninny about having cold feet. If my feet are cold, forget it...the rest of me is FROZEN!

That's what I'm sayin', Susan! I don't think you could ever do that in Michigan!

Mildred I also tell people I have three children! lol (have two daughters and a husband!)

We did our whole downstairs in wood ourselves. Just dh and I and occasional help from DD#2 who loves to pick up a hammer. It was a lot of work with all the cuts, I figure this square room would be a cinch!

I am also going to look into laminate flooring, anything but carpet!

Love the health angle.

Although DH has found the perfect reason for me NOT to get carpet. We still have one cat left in the house, and he spit up twice this morning on my hallway rug that one day needs to be replaced. DH doesn't want cat spit up on any new carpets! lol

If you'd like another option aside from Pergo, look into laminate peel & stick tiles. We put them down in the dining room and I loved the finished look. Plus if you have an accident with an exacto knife or paint, you can just peel up the affected area & stick new ones in to replace! :)
