Re: March Creating Keepsakes Magazine
I was just thinking about missing the march issue of CK this morning. Thanks for explaining. It's sad that so many magazines are going under. I love reading them. Here in Holland we have 2 Dutch mags but they are linked to stores so always the same people submitting and only with product that you can get in that store. Don;t think that's a good thing.

Guess, we'll just have to wait for the march/april issue!

I just renewed for two years, so I hope nothing happens. It wasn't cheap.

It's so sad to hear about the different magazines not being published anymore! I liked "Simple Scrapbooks", it was one of my faves. I still have CK and SBetc....I hope they're able to survive. I always look forward to receiving my issue in the mail and sitting down and reading them from cover to cover...

Re: March Creating Keepsakes Magazine
Yeah, but don't they have a new "club" out? You pay for a membership and you get 4 (yup, the missing 4) issues of Tips and Techniques delivered right to your mailbox. You don't get much else for the money either. I'm so bummed.

Re: March Creating Keepsakes Magazine
Wowsers! I didn't know that CK had gone to 8 issues. Wow. They didn't even inform their subscribers? How did I miss this? I've been a subscriber for years and read mine from cover to cover several times and totally missed this announcement. I love my scrappy mags, but this is wrong on so many levels. I know it has everything to do with the economy, but I believe if CK would offer the same renewal rates to existing subscribers that they offer to new subscribers, that they would have more loyal customers. Volume is what they need, right? So keep the price low and go after renewals. Okay, I'm off the soap box.....gosh, but that felt good to vent...........breath in.....breath out.....oh, crap, just breathe...........

Re: March Creating Keepsakes Magazine
There are lots of websites that sell discounted magazine subscriptions; it's always waaaaaay more $ to subscribe directly from a publisher. I know they used to have CK though I don't do scrappy mags any more (I have ACOT!). But IIRC the basic scrap mags (CK or MM, can't remember, and SS) were $12-24; never more than that. Use Google & also check eBay - there are tons of sites like Magazines.com but the prices (and selection) vary. I've used mag websites for years for both personal & business subscriptions & saved tons; only once I had a co. go under so we lost the $, but overall still came out way ahead.

Wow - did not know CK had gone to 8 issues. The last one I recieved I was not impressed with - nothing really inspired me as they definitely went in the direction of catering to Simple Scrapbook subscribers, IMO. I want to be able to take 1-2 techniques away from a read.
SB ETC continues to inspire, but I pick it up at B&N. Scrapbooking and Beyond, although quarterly, is still my favorite.
