I have only used post bound and I have some issues with them when they get too full. The post have ripped out and now I can't use it. Based on some of the feedback from everyone I definitely will look into a 3-ring album. I too, like to do 2 page layouts and how they look in the middle.
I've used post bound for trip albums and love the d rings for single page LOs that are always done out of order.

I like three ring because I do 12x12 and 8.5x11 and 6x12 sizes and love to mix up the sizes all in one album, along with plain photo holders. yes, my albums are very eclectic.
I made the switch from post bound to 3 ring during the summer and won't ever go back.
I love the 3 ring binders. I don't scrap in order and scrap so many pages that I can easily fill a post bound with a days worth of scrapping. I've found that Ross gets the 3 ring ones in for $5.99 and then I alter the covers to however I want them. They fit neater into bookcases too.
I went from post bound to 3 ring and the back again. Although I like the option of moving things around, I found that the with the 3 ring because of the wt etc the rings would often open up just enough when flipping multiple pages at once that at least one of the pages would slip out so I gave up on them.

I bought post bound when I first started and what a PITA! I bought one 3-Ring and only buy them now.

I really want to try 3-ring... but I think I'll keep the postbounds for my doubles, which I do a lot of. I have used those straps instead of posts and when they work like they are supposed to they are great! But I have some that don't work right, the ends won't snap into place and keep coming apart -- a total pain.
Looks like I am not alone...3 ring binders for me too! They are just so much easier to move around than post bound if you need to ad page or take it out.

Started with post-bound because I didn't know any better, moving towards 3-ring. Love the flexibility of moving pages around...so much less hassle!

I use both, depending on the type of album it is. If it's for the kids, a chronological album, I like 3 ring, because I can add/rearrange pages as I go (I don't always scrap in a chrono. order) But if I have an album for zoo pics, macro pics and a couple of other more 'generic' albums that I like post-bound.

I used 3-ring when I first started to scrap, 8.5x11. Now I do 12x12 and use post bound with the stirp things, not sure what they're called. I haven't seen any 12x12 three ring.

i use 3 ring binders as I go - that way all pages are in page protectors and safe. Then when I finish a topic or once a year or so, every thing gets sorted, put in order and into post bound albums. I like how my 2 page spreads look more like 1 piece in the post albums. I hate the huge gap between facing pages in the ring bound but the ring bound is much easier to rearrange as I go along.

I went to 3 ring albums last year and have never looked back. So much easier for people to look at too.

I put other, only because I have only ever used post bound. I would like to try 3 ring, but bought a bunch of albums on close-out and am using them up.
For my vacation albums, I am planning on using the lickety slip albums by Bazzill, because I can scrapbook and put picks in sleeves. So I can get all my pics in there, but not have to scrap every one. And they have different page options. Go check it out.

I definitely prefer three ring - which works great now that I scrap almost all one pagers.
I have plenty of post-bound though - fanned out as fat as can be from being overloaded. I tried converting to the snap n load system, but first one I used tore so I decided it was not a very durable option. Someday I am going to clear out all the post bounds, put them in 3 rings, and put the old albums in a garage sale!
However, I will say, that as a bulky scrapper - I cannot fit a whole lot in a 3 ring compared to post bound. My kids are going to kill me if they have 50 albums to take with them, or more, by the time they graduate!

I have been using post bounds from the day I started scrapping. But from what I've read and heard recently about 3 ring binders....I'm tempted to try one!
I have a question about the three ring binders -- are they awkward to look through?
I can give someone -- a nonscrapbooking visitor who is only interested in the photos -- one of my post bound albums to look at while they are sitting on the couch or in the recliner, but it seems to me that the pages in a three ring would slide around, plus the book itself is much bigger and seems like it would be harder to balance. That's a big reason why I'm sticking with post bound -- because it seems easier to hand to someone to look at -- but there are so many people who say they use 3 ring that I'm wondering if it is really a concern.
