sharing your work
Ok my question on the appropriateness of those two photos have me thinking something else. I scrap a lot of random stuff. From my crock pot, to bad hair days, to funny pictures. But other than on message boards, like this, and my blog, other people really don't see my work. Occasionally when my MIL is here I will share my work with her. But that is it, and half my layouts are in those big plastic scrapbook box things and not in albums.

So how often do you really share you pages with other people?

Re: sharing your work
I'll show the travel albums to my parents, but they only look at the photos and NEVER comment on the layout and its style or embellishments. I do this all for ME!!! and therefore, I show them rarely to others (except my DH who loves them).

I don't share that often. My husband and kids are the only ones I show on a regular basis. When family comes to visit, I might show them a page or two that I'm really proud of but that's about it. Except for challenges on here.

My family really only sees what I post online as they aren't in the same state. My mil LOVED to look at what I did - I will miss that!

The girls are always pulling out their books when people come over. Their enthusiasm rubs off on most people.

Re: sharing your work
My dh makes me pull out my albums whenever family come over. And I email my gallery links to my family members from time to time. I have several family members who live in other states, so they would never see my family otherwise. My sil in Georgia is grateful, as I have inspired her to getting back into crafting again. Yeah! And she really likes looking at the website. Now, if i could get her to join the message board!

I share it with my family, mostly. They seem to enjoy looking at the pages, particularly if the photos feature them. I also share on my blog!

Re: sharing your work
I share with my family and close friends. Seeing as how I do not have a blog, I do post them online in galleries such as ACOT and other sites. If I'm subscribing to a monthly kit club, then I'll post what I've come up with in their gallery as well. I've tossed around the idea of starting my own blog, but I'm not very good at keeping those kinds of things updated!

Re: sharing your work
Aside from my immediate family and a close friend or two, almost never. I do it for my benefit - it helps me relax - with the hope that my kids will appreciate it when they are older. I rarely post layouts even here at ACOT unless I've lifted someone's design or technique.
OCD is not an adjective.  It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized.  It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. 💙 I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son. 💙

I'm not a big sharer, in fact I cringe when I am at a crop and other people want to look at my pages. I have also been known to not post or to block out areas of my LOs when I do post them on MBs because they are realated to my husband's hunting hobby.

I share mostly with my family and a few friends! When showing my my DH, he usually ends up thanking me for scrapping and recording our memories for the kids. That always makes me feel good!! Love it!!
I just want the chance to PROVE that money won't make me happy!!

I give all my Los away to either my mum and dad or to my MIL - I know they share them with family. Eventually I' get them back again.

That is so nice. Mine just kind of glances and then shrugs. He doesn't get it. But that is ok. Like some of you said, I do it for me. To help me relax and as a creative outlet.

I tend to post on here - & I'll show off if I am working on something at a crop. But other than my kids & dh (who sometimes helps me come up with titles...) I don't show my work to others.

Also this begs the question.... Why are you scrapping and who for??? I scrap for the kids to be able to show grandkids and down the line... not for pubs but if you are scrapping to get published you might have a different opinion...

I post my LOs here and on a private message board, and also my blog, although no one in my family even knows about my blog, LOL! I also share my LOs with my mom and one of my sisters over Windows Messenger. I'm working on finally getting my LOs into albums, so that when my grandparents come to visit in April, they can look at my books and see how Avery has changed, because I am really terrible about emailing them pictures.

Re: sharing your work
I share mine with a friend at work who scraps (or at least collects scrappy supplies!) and my family looks at them online sometimes. Other than that, my dd likes to look back at them which is pretty fun.

Re: sharing your work
I post most of my los here on ACOT, since most of them are for the challenges here. My DH really loves and appreciates my los and likes to see them. I like to show them to the people who are in them. Some close friends have asked to see some of them, and I gladly show them.

My friends, family, and boyfriends always want to look at my pages. They think it's really cool. Or at least they do a good job of pretending.

I share all my work with my husband and kids, my mom & sisters. I will share with my scrappy friends, sometimes, if I feel it is worthy of showing.
