Re: Your Favorite Card
I guy I was casually dating while going through a divorce.  For my birthday he gave me a store bought card, but it also had words of encouragement of how everything was going to get better.  He was right.

Re: Your Favorite Card
My favorite card (s) would be the birthday cards my 3 grandkids made for me when they were little.  They were so proud of the cards they had made.  Each one stamped a sentiment on the inside of the their cards and added the XOXO where they signed it.

Re: Your Favorite Card
My favorite card was from my 4th grade classroom when I was home sick for a long period of time. I remember the artwork, and everyone signed it.

Re: Your Favorite Card
One of the most favorite cards I received was from a perfect stranger thanking me for raising such a wonderful, kind and thoughtful son. Apparently my son and this elderly woman had attended the same wedding. As everyone was leaving it started to rain and my son who didn't even know this woman saw her standing there not knowing how she was going to get to her car without getting soaked. My son went inside and found an umbrella and walked this woman to her car. She asked him for my address so she could send a thank you card to me. I want to mention my son was of college age at the time.

Re: Your Favorite Card
Seeing this question, I went looking in my keepsake box, where I store treasured notes and cards. So I've been down memory lane a bit. I'd expected that I'd say - one of my kids' handwritten notes from when they were little. But actually the one note that really made me smile is from my hubby...a store-bought card for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was filled with cute images, but at the bottom he signed it, "And I'd do it again."
I guess that's why I kept it - we've been married for almost 30 years now, and yeah, he's a keeper. <3

Re: Your Favorite Card
I thought of a lot of cards, but the one I treasure really wasn’t a card, but a scrap of a note from my adult son.  I worked at a bank and he was a manager of a business.  He knew I did the night deposits, so he put a note in the bag to me, and drew hearts on it and wrote a funny sweet note.  That was about 40 years ago.  I still have it!

Re: Your Favorite Card
My favorite card was one I purchased when my brother was in college.  It said "Merry Christmas to my favorite relative".  The inside said "Save this card, you can give it back to me next year."  And he did!! He, who loses everything!  And so it started, I gave it back again, and so did he and it continued for many years.  My mom put dates on the line when we passed it each year, and it was more than a decade.  He lost it when he wrote a telephone number on the back, but we really enjoyed it for many years.

Re: Your Favorite Card
For Mother's day this year my youngest daughter Laura gave me a bundle of cards tied together in a bow.
There were 6 cards all with the title Open When ...

-You want to relive our adventures
-Need a reminder of your impact
-You are feeling lonely
-You are feeling overwhelmed
-You are feeling unappreciated
-You need a reminder of your strength

I spent the next 4 months opening the cards.  Each one was thoughtful, loving and just the pick me up I needed.  There were lots of tears and lots of reminders that I am loved and that I did a good job of raising a wonderful, thoughtful daughter.
