NSD 2021: Pick an Animal (come here before you go to the main challenge)

Welcome to the ScrappyDistractions Animal Challenge hosted by me (Lisa)

I am an animal nut. Nearly every city I visit including international I include a visit to the local zoo. I even do this on business trips when time permits. Our love of animals extends to our private life as well where we started a hobby farm in 2014 and now have about 50 chickesn, 40 guinea hens, donkeys, goats, turkeys, dogs, and a cat, mostly rescue. But farm animals are a bit too traditional. So let's see what we can do with something more exotic!
Step 1: From the below list, choose an animal. Reserve your spot here by mentioning which animal you want to work with. You must choose BEFORE 8pm EST May 1 when I will reveal the rest of the challenge.
Update as of Saturday morning: Sammy the very colorful San Fransisco Garter Snake is super popular but now poor Sandy the Sloth is falling behind. He was the #1 animal in the first few days but Sammy has now slithered by her. Which animal will win the school yard pick?
Step 2: Mid-way through my hosting session on Saturday May (7pm - 9pm) I will reveal the rest of the challenge and tell you what your chosen animal represents.
Step 3: You will have until Monday May 10 11:59pm PST to submit your entry here. Must be a layout, but open to paper, digi, or hybrid, any size. Must be a new layout.
Step 4: I will select a winner randomly after the end of the challenge. Prize = $10 ACOT gift certificate
