Show and Tell time
This is for points, too. ;) Show me your favorite layout you have done, tell why you love it, and then show the one you struggled with the most. If you are up for some constructive criticism on how to improve that layout, let us know and we will try to help. If it is a done deal and you are over it and don't want to know anything but the good points, let us know that, too. :) My favorites change often, but this one is my current fave, because it has my favorite subject, I love the colors, and I am proud I did not have to use a template/sketch to create it!

This one is probably my favorite from yesterday. Just loving how it turned out.

This one - there's just something off about it for me. I don't know what. But it has the most comments, so I'm probably just being hard on myself. I'm not going to change it, I never change once it's done. I'm a movin' on kind of gal, but would love to hear what you think.

ImageThis is one of my favorites! I loved how all the colors came together so well, and I just seemed to have the perfect embellies for it.

Image Now this one, I really hate! Using bright colors is really tough for me, and I can always tell when I look thru my lo's which ones I just wanted to be done with. This is one of those!

This one is okay (I don't go back and change layouts when I am done). I wanted to get all those photos on the layout and I did, but I'm not sure how well I really like it.

This is my newest fave. And its a hybrid!

And here is one I'm not too thrilled about:

Image

I'm thinking I shouldn't have stitched the way I did. And the colors don't work well either.

Christine,

If you go into the gallery and look at my very first Digi layouts (all the way back in 2009 on the last page), you'll see that I struggled with the same issues.

The trick is shadowing. Without shadows, the elements on the page seem flat and have no dimension.

Here are two tutorials here in the ACOT archives that might help. You can also search YouTube for videos that correlate to the software you use.

Hope this helps!

You've done other dps layouts, so what about putting the one shot of the mountains on it's own page (larger photo), then spreading the others out across the second page as a border. You could layer the papers behind them to represent the mountains, similar to the waves on the layout below. Just my suggestion.

this is one of my favorites - I really love the colors and woodgrain b/g and I love the photo too (although dh asked why I was scrapping a pair of legs - LOL!)

Image

this one is one where the idea didn't really translate into reality. Perhaps it's the soft colors or the splotchy misting but I really don't like the end result. I'm definitely open to constructive or any criticism though

ImageI love putting flowers on my LOS. This was a special tribute to my parents who are deceased.

I would like some feedback on this LO. I don't really care for it because it just looks so mundane.
