Tell Me #5
What is your favorite holiday tradition? DH and I exchange special Christmas ornaments on Christmas Eve before going to bed. I love decorating the tree and looking back on all of those.

Oh gosh, we have several...hard to pick a favorite. We get an ornament each year for the tree, we go to a light display at a local park, we watch the same Christmas movies each year, and of course there's the decorating every corner of the house! :winkb:

My husband and I make gingerbread houses with the granddaughters and feed them lots of cookies and candy and read them, Twas the Night Before Christmas every year.

To be honest, I'm really not a big holiday person. For the past 6 or 7 years though, I've enjoyed decorating my Christmas Tree with non-traditional colors. It's been so much fun using something other than red and green. Last year it was my son's school colors red, blue and wite.

Re: Tell Me #5
Mom gave an ornament to each of us kids until we grew up, and I did the same for my sons. Now I'm waiting for grandkids and I'll do the same for them. I also LOVE the cranberry-orange bread Mom and I make every year and we only eat it on Thansgiving and Christmas. Love the memories!

Re: Tell Me #5
We play funny games during the holidays...like scavenger hunt for certain gifts, or the "righty-lefty" story game for certain gifts. We have started a tradition of giving our boys hats--since their papaw (now gone) always got some sort of hat for Christmas and was a hat collector. Now the grandsons get hats. It is great fun shopping for the "just right" hats during the year. Last year they also got marshmallow guns--they had to play a game to get the package, then all five of them opened together and started shooting their marshmallows! Great fun!

We have only done this one year, so not really a tradition yet, but the adults exchange names and we buy each other pajamas. After church we come home and open our pjs and put them on and then sit down to watch the kids open all their presents.....and we are SO COMFORTABLE...it is awesome!!

We do alot of traveling before and after Christmas but we always make sure we're back home to wake up Christmas morning. I love being in my own home and having the kids open their gifts from Santa.

Re: Tell Me #5
I have a tree for the grandkids and it is full of Disney ornaments that we have collected over the years. When we go to WDW each one would pick out an ornament and have their name and year put on it. Now we only get one, since the tree isn't big enough to hold them all.
