Welcome, welcome everyone!!
I hope you'll follow along with me tonight and make something beautiful for yourself or as a gift for someone else. This project (like ALL my classes! ) takes a while... much longer than my one hour time slot! So follow along and your inner piece will come together in a jiffy. The outer frame takes some time but is definitely worth it in the end!
As always, please feel free to ask me questions as we go along and I will be happy to do my best to answer them! The tutorial article will be viewable after the crop in the resources section.

This class will show you how to create this altered frame wreath from an old thrift store frame and an old book.
Oh my!! You didn't disappoint! This is gorgeous, Jess.

WoohoO!!! I have been dying for this class!! THough I totally spaced on picking up a frame! I went looking like the day after you said you were doing this class--and then I got sidetracked....can't wait to do this! I actually want to make two 5x7 frames like this frame to sit on my bookcase with my fall decorations too!

Absolutely beautiful, Jess! Can't wait to get working on it!
Here is what I started with:
Excuse the irony of my old book choice... it made me giggle!
My frame is large enough for an 8 x 10 photo AND a mat. Ideally I wish it was a few inches smaller but I still love it. All of my instructions are based on my frame so you may need to make different measurements based on YOUR frame.

Okay, I'm here! Can't wait to see how to make this!

First, you'll need to remove the glass and backing from the frame and use a screwdriver or similar utensil to bend back any metal tabs on the back of it. Paint your frame in a coordinating color with acrylic paint. I did several coats but you don't need to be too concerned about perfection here because nearly all of the surface will end up being covered in paper. The most important area to have covered is the outside edge.
Oh, ok! I have both lying around here somewhere! I was thinking it was a special kind of frame. Awesome
Also, a note: I would LOVE to see all kinds of variations on this! Make it say Merry Christmas, instead... or do it in blue and white for Hanukkah!
Yippee! I've been looking foward to this!
