Ashjoy wrote:I'm having trouble getting the inserts to print correctly. The numbers are cutting off the tops just a little, but enough to make it not look good. Any suggestions? or can you try to email it to me? jcasaldi at ptd.net
You should be able to adjust your page margins to fix this. I can email you but it will be the exact same file! The issue is in how your word processor reads the file. If you keep playing with the margins you should be able to get it, I hope! If the numbers are just messed up on the top two boxes maybe you can only cut out the bottom two? So sorry you're having trouble!
I am here, i couldn't make it back home quick enough. I love this mini album.
Important note: Please keep in mind where the binding holes will need to be! Some pages have the month placed near the holes. You may want to add the embellishments after assembling the rest of the pages and punching the holes so that it is easier to see how much space you have to work with.
So... center the patterned paper sheet and adhere it to the cardstock. Use my photos as a guide to get a feel for where the printed lined paper should be. Adhere the patterned strip at the top or bottom (depending on the page).
The month stickers are wider than we need them to be. I simply used my scissors to cut each month out and then trimmed above and below the letters so that the sticker would be almost entirely on the patterned strip. You don't need to be terribly precise here as the stickers are clear.
Here are the rest of the months:

adorable! i am a late starter...
You are going to be shocked by how fast this is to make and therefor, how fast this class will be! The pages are all the same "base" so that makes it super easy.
As you can see I added a small embellishment to each page. If you are using different embellishments just make sure they aren't too bulky, as they will make your book really thick. I alternated buttons, clips, and flowers and you'll want to make sure to keep the embellishments off of the lines where you'll be writing.
Jess yet again you rock my socks!!! I can't wait to make this!

On a molecular level, I'm very busy.

Aw, thanks!! But now I am super paranoid that everyone will have trouble with the file!

Finishing
If you have not already punched each page you'll want to do so now. I simply centered one page on one of the album covers and marked where the holes should be. I punched those and then used that page as a template for all the other pages.
You can bind your album in two ways:
1. Use binder rings to hook your pages together and tie decorative ribbons as I have. I had rings in my stash but you can purchase some here at ACOT or from your local office supply store.
or
2. Use only ribbon and thread it loosely (make sure there is enough room to turn the pages) through the holes. Tie the ends in bows. Your album will be "floppier" but very cute!

Well it wouldn't be too terribly hard to whip one up. I think everyone has some sort of word processor on their computer.

That's it! The album comes together super quickly because of the formatted design of the pages. This would make an excellent (and inexpensive) gift for any occasion: birthdays, the holidays, Mother's Day, and more.
I hope you guys liked this even though we had a few hiccups! PLEASE don't hesitate to PM me questions or ask in here and I will do everything I can to help!
