I totally improvised with what I had! I forgot the scalloped edges---oops! Actually, I don't have anything that would make petite scallops... I used snowflakes for my center:

Re: ~~~~HANDMADE FLOWER Class~~~~HERE!!!
Awesome technique and instructions, Juliana!!!

I would think an oval would work, too. Or maybe the shadow/blackout of a letter O or zero on a cricut or other cutting machine. :winkb:

Re: ~~~~HANDMADE FLOWER Class~~~~HERE!!!
Here are all of the step by step instructions together to make it easier to follow along!

Instructions:

STEP 1
Cut or punch out 6 large sized balloons, 5 medium sized balloon, and 4 small sized balloons.
Cut or punch out a flower shape with 7 petals and 3 sun burst images.
Cut or punch out a small sun shape.
Image

STEP 2

Take the deckle edge scissors and trim off a very small amount on the top of each balloon.
(I am talking a very small sliver.)
Image

STEP 3

Next, ink the edges of each balloon.
Image

STEP 4

Take the bamboo skewer and roll the top edge of each balloon over it.
Image

STEP 5
Use your fingers to curl up the bottom of the balloon like this.
Image

STEP 6
Finally use your fingers to curl the side edges of the balloon inward.
Do not be afraid of this process!
It gives the petals character and helps them look more realistic.
Image

STEP 7
Repeat this process with all of the balloon shapes. You now have one big happy petal family!!!
Image

STEP 8
Next take the flower shape and cut a small slit toward the center.
Image

STEP 9
This shape is going to be your flower base. Overlap the 2 petals that are next to the slit and glue them together.
Image

STEP 10
Now you will start creating the rose.
Begin by gluing the 6 large sized balloons on to the flower base.
Image

STEP 11
Continue until you have adhered all 6 large sized balloons.
Image

STEP 12
Next adhere the 5 medium sized balloons.
Image

STEP 13
Finally adhere the 4 small sized balloons.
Image

STEP 14
To create the center you will adhere all of the sun burst together by layering them on top of each other.
Add the small sun punch to the top of them.
Image

STEP 15
Squeeze this into a cone shape with your fingers. So that it looks like this.
Image

Image

STEP 16
Glue this to the center of the rose.
Image
And there you have it...a gorgeous 3D rose! Finish by adding some leaves and then adhere to your project!
