always had perms too, and they came out with that Sun In (I think that was the name) that you spray in your hair and it starts to lighten it the more you use it

OK I had regular long straight hair but I got married in the early 80's and my husband (ex now) got a perm for the big day...seriously!!! Too funny...

Oh yeah, perm with the big bangs, lots of Aussie Scrunch Spray and Aquanet in the front. My husband says it was flytrap hair.

Body wave, not a perm, but only because perms give me Afros and a body wave looks like a perm on me.

I had the WORST hairstyles in the 80's. My hair is naturally curly and my mom's is baby fine straight. Needless to say she had no idea what to do with it and neither did I. So my hair was kept short, and after a horribly short haircut, like barely an inch short, I swore I would never get it cut again. So for the first 3 years of high school, my hair grew. It was AWFUL! Finally my senior year (1988) my best friend, who also had naturally curly hair, dragged me to her hairstylist who shaped my hair into a nice bob and blew it out straight. My friend then put make up on me and the next day at school I looked so different, everyone was really staring at me. For the better I think.
