Did you go to school for design?

The design process is a little bit of both. Sometimes I am super inspired, like right now actually and just go with it. A line can be finished really quickly that way. But other times it takes longer, the way I get over that hump is by research. I go out to my favorite paper stores, look in the greeting card aisle at Target and go to the library and Barnes and Noble. That usually always gets me out of a funk. Sometimes I just need sleep and fresh eyes too.

I am definately going to need the All Inclusive line as well!! We just returned from 2 weeks at an all inclusive resort in Antigua and I've been collecting papers and emellies to prepare to scrap the 1500 pictures we took!!

Do you hand draw your own designs before they get to the final result or is at all done on the computer?? I work in the art department at a local college here but I'm sad to say I know nothing about Graphic Design!!

Is there one design element that you are particularly fond of and why? Forgive me if that should be obvious to actual owners of your papers. I've only seen them online so far, not in my local scrapbook store.

I hand draw about half of the designs that have been printed so far. Usually its a mix between my drawings and geometrical designs created right in the computer during the process. For example, the flirty flowers "Party Girl" I drew and the cupcakes in the Sweet Celebration I drew, but the stripes and repeated patterns are computerized.

Naming the papers is one of the funnest, yet challenging parts of the process! I come up with what I can, and then ask for help from my in-office employees and all the Bella Artistas. They love having a say and being part of the creative process!

Design element? Do you mean product? If so, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Ciao Chip, chipboard embellishments. Otherwise, I am very proud of the color palettes.

Yes, Bella's first and only (so far) Holiday line is "December Details" geared towards Christmas....it sold like hot-cakes!
