Sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes?

I'm trying to convince my mom to do mashed potatoes..but think we're gonna skip on any potatoes this year.. Never been into yams or sweet potatoes.. At least the way we have tried to make them before.. Definitely love the mashed tators though!

Yummy mashed!!!! OH my most favorite---the really HIGH calorie version with butter, cream cheese and sour cream in them!!!!! A recipe from friends---I used to love how my new textbooks in high school smelled like them! LOL

I don't like my mashed potatoes to be lumpy either; there is a reason why they call them mashed. So smash out those lumps!
