Hello, Cherries!  Did you know Christmas is 100 days away?

Would you like to join a Christmas Ornament Exchange right here on the MB?   If so, please sign-up in this thread!

The rules are pretty simple!  Once sign-ups are closed, I will assign each Cherry a name!  You will then purchase and mail a Christmas ornament to that Cherry!  Easy peasy! 

Now, that being said, there are a few rules:

1.  Sign-ups are now open and will close on October 15, 2024. 

2.  Please sign-up in this thread and send me a PM with your name and exact mailing address.

3.  On or around October 16, you will receive a PM from me indicating which Cherry you will be purchasing a Christmas Ornament for.

4.  Please answer all the questions at the end of this post so that your purchasing Cherry knows how to make you happy this Christmas!

5.  With regard to the cost of the ornament, there is no minimum and no maximum.  There are ornaments in all prices ranges.  You just need to make sure that the ornament you purchase is one that your fellow DC will truly enjoy.  In years past, some Cherries have sent more than one ornament.  However you want to handle it is strictly up to you and your budget!

6.  ALL ORNAMENTS SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 1, 2024, AND DEFINITELY NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 5, 2024!  This will allow plenty of time for DCs to display and enjoy their new ornaments!

7.  If for some reason you sign-up and then find yourself unable to participate, send me a PM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!  We want to make sure no one is left without an ornament!

8.  Communication is key!  If your package is late to ship or will be delayed for any reason at all, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PM me as soon as possible!  Life happens!  We all get that!  Just keep me in the loop!

     I have several trees with different themes.  I have a bird tree, a Rudolph tree, a kitchen tree (that's
     decorated  with old metal cookie cutters).  Really as long as you stay away from purple and snowmen,
     it's impossible not to make me happy!

Hand made ornaments are allowed, as long as it is something that your DC will be able to appreciate and enjoy!

I don't like traditional Christmas decorations.  I do like beaded/crystal/fancy lace ornaments in my chosen colors and items that are considersider vintage.

I'll use whatever colors I'm in the mood to use at the time I'm putting up my tree. However, NO NEON colors.

Not a true theme, however, over half of my ornaments are dog and cat ornaments. Surprised?

3.  What is your decorating style?  Primitive, Country, Traditional, etc. My decorating style is whatever I'm in the mood to do that year. LOL.

4.  Is there anything or any color you would NOT like to see on your Christmas tree? See #1. NO NEON COLORS. I'm also not religious whatsoever.  I also don't like the woodlawn critters

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT EXCHANGE QUESTIONNAIRE

1. What colors do you decorate your Christmas tree with?

Typically I stick with traditional red, white, silver, gold, green. And they usually have a farmhouse/rustic vibe.
Although last year, my husband convinced me to buy vibrant colored ornaments, etc., and we had a Dr. Seuss whimsical tree. He and I are very, very very different people. I love him so I indulged. I don't know when we will do this tree again lol

2. Does your Christmas tree have a theme?
I actually do a different theme each year.i have a 10ft tree, a 6 ft, and a few smaller table top trees.
My favorite is my white and red Santa clause tree. (.* Every ornament is either a Santa Claus, or red, or white or a combination. Such as candy canes, poinsettias. Red or white wood bead garland etc. My lights are the clear twinkling ones and there's usually about 3000 lights on my 10ft tree.

I also then I have one that I only put white ornaments on That have more of a rustic vibe. I will mix this with the black and white buffalo chick pattern and wood rustic things like a white truck hauling a Christmas tree, etc.
I will usually toss in giant red ornaments or poinsettias for a splash of color


Then I have--
NO- Let me rephrase, MY HUSBAND HAS a dr Seuss/ whimsical tree THAT HAS EVERY COLOR IMAGINABLE, EVEN PURPLE!
While I am not a fan of the brightly colored Christmas trees, my husband is.
I tend to lean more towards the muted, romantic/rustic vibe, My husband does not. He is all about the whimsy and I think he does it because he knows it drives me nuts!

I have several trees with several different styles. One would be more of a romantic Victorian. One would be more rustic farmhouse. One would be my idea of the whimsical with all of the Santa Claus and red and white ornaments. And finally, my husband is all about the giant, vibrant colored Dr. Seuss and whimsical ornaments.


4. Is there anything or any color you would NOT like to see on your Christmas tree?
Well, I got married and he changed all that. So anything is good at this point lol

I don't know that I have certain colors - but there isn't really any pink on my tree, very little purple.  There's mostly some traditional colors - reds, greens, golds and then a hodge podge of random ornaments.

We buy an ornament from each place we vacation, important things from the year, etc - so no real theme.

Hodge Podge. Nothing really girly or cartoony.  I love vintage style ornaments, mice, ornaments from fun places... and a long shot would be a Brandi Carlile Christmas ornament!

Pink or purple...

MY TREE IS MADE OF LOTS OF DIFFERENT ORNAMENTS, NO REAL COLOR THEME........ I DO LOVE METAL OR GLASS ORNAMENTS............. CAN BE SNOWMEN BUT NO ANGELS.............. These are some trick questions hahaha.

1.  What colors do you decorate your Christmas tree with?
It depends on the tree.  I think more can be answered in question 2.

2.  Does your Christmas tree have a theme?
YES!!!  I have several trees.  If all are up, it is 14.  The easiest themed trees are:  Disney, nature (owls, squirrels, MOOSIES), travel (places we have been), new (any ornament from the current year), general (ones that don't fit elsewhere), pups (we have 2 dogs, a tri color corgi and a mutt that looks like a yellow lab), sports (I am a Denver Broncos fan)

3.  What is your decorating style?  Primitive, Country, Traditional, etc.
Ummmm, it depends on my mood or tree.  I'm usually lean towards realistic or cultural (I'm Mexican and Polish)

4.  Is there anything or any color you would NOT like to see on your Christmas tree?
Maybe things that need to be interpreted, I'm pretty literal and realistic.  Maybe no angels, I'm very picky about my angels.

I LOVE Christmas.  I collect Nativities and crosses, love National Parks, lighthouses, moosies!!!  My family and friends say I'm very easy to shop for lol.

My white and gold tree is the "elegant" tree. The pink one is my own personal "girlie" tree that stands in my scrap room.

Christmas is my favorite time of year, I love having all the decorations up. I have snowmen, reindeer, santas, a christmas village... I love it all!

We went to Cracker Barrel this morning for breakfast. Their store has the cutest ornaments.  Nicer than what Hobby Lobby offers.   Excited to get my partner.  I want to go to our local Christmas store and see what they have.

It's cold and crisp today.  Feels wonderful.
