this challenge is provided by Laura (Art_Teacher) who couldn't be here to play with us today but wanted to give you a little something fun to do while she is away.
Do you ever have trouble finding just the right paper for your layout? Make your own! Choose the colors from your photo and use them to create your palette. Then add overlays or texture from your software to create just the right look. For this challenge, you must make at least two papers and use them in your layout. In my sample layout below, I made all of the papers and then found awesome elements from other designers to embellish them. Ready, set, show us what you can do! upload your layouts to the DSD: Paper Challenge gallery category, due by midnight Sunday.

I created my own paper for this layout.
-I started with a wide round brush and stippled in yellow on a cream colored base. Then I used another rough brush to create a distressed pink edge. With a couple brushes, I add the doodled flower in the corner.
I always get really cool ideas from things I see around me. Such as the Bed and Bath section, it always has inspiration for me. Take a look at these papers I designed by using some bathroom decor items for color, texture and even pattern ideas!

Thank you so much for the free goodie - they are BEAUTIFUL!!!
I didn't know how to put mine all together so nicely but they're in the gallery together. Here is just one of the pages. This was such a terrific learning experience and now I have some actual "teen boy" papers to use for my son's photos - THANK YOU!!!

I'm back from my weekend! C'mon ladies...I want to see what you can do with this! Don't forget, you have to design 2 papers and post a layout using them!
Laura
Okay, here is the page I made. I used all three papers on here. I hope it's what I was supposed to - well, I know we only needed two but...
WOW M'Lee you ROCKED this one!!
On a molecular level, I'm very busy.
Thanks Tracy!! I still don't like the small piece that I made from the fabric but I will learn how to do it better - I HOPE!! LOL!

Tracy you are so right! Unfortunately I bought those AFTER I finished the page - LOL!!! I got those and her scribbles too. I'm just now learning what I need to do digi pages correctly. I'm going to start paying closer attention the actual elements and actions that you guys use on your pages.
