cardstock "breaks" along fold line
Hi:

I am using DCWV white core card stock. I am also using the Cricut scorer to make a fold line for my cards. The problem is that when I do fold the card, it seems to 'break' and shows the white interior. Is this to be expected with white core stock? I am scoring the outside - is that right?

I would think this probably would happen. I'll have to see if I have any around from them. I have some from Core'dinations and I don't think it does that. But I know exactly what you're talking about.

Re: cardstock "breaks" along fold line
Hmmmm...I have some white-core cs but I don't use it for cards. If i'm using a color other than white for a card, I use a cs that the color is dyed through and through.

I have never used the scoring blade for the Cricut so I can't really give any advice for that. I'm not sure if blade depth or pressure would affect anything if you are just scoring...

I use a fiskars paper cutter and just change out the blade for the scoring blade if I need to do that. I also have a bone folder thingy to help make a sharp crease.

Have you tried just folding and creasing using your nails to press along the crease to see if the cs still breaks?

I have had that happen with card stock with a white core as well. Core'dinations is dyed all the way thru so that doesn't happen (depending on the line you buy from them).

In stead of making the whole card out of one piece of cardstock, would you be able to make just a card front with it?

That is a pain at times. One thing you can do although a pain to do each time is to use a mini mister and lightly spray the paper before you score and fold it.
