silling, new-bee questions, how to i upload a pix of me for my profile (to show up to the left of my posts)?

I have the same question...

Go to the user control panel in the upper right hand corner and click on it.

Then click onn the tap that says profile
then avitar

Then fill out the info and add a pic to the box.
There might be a trick to the box, but if you have problems someone will help you.
I'll be off the boards for a few hours, but I hope this helps.

The pic has to already be online somewhere. It won't upload it from your computer. You can always go upload the pic to the gallery here first. It does have to already be small enough to be an avatar pic. The software will not resize it for you.

Thanks everyone...I didn't even know what avitar was (thought it was a movie!) until i looked it up online...not very techie, just craftie maybe i'll remain pix-less and let you just imagine what I look like I'm a bit intimadated by the whole thang......

Just went on that site - you paying the $2.00 a month for it?

And still cannot figure out how to load a photo correctly onto the message board.

Ditto, I have attempted it a few times with no luck. I can't figure out how to resize the picture.

You have to resize the photo on your pc. What photo editing software do you have?

resizing photos is easy.


One can do it from any photo software you have on your computer. I just happen to use the CM one and waiting until I can afford PSE.


Or you can google Resize Photo and a host of free sites will pop up.


The clue as Ann said it has to be uploaded somewhere on the web or in the gallery here on ACOT.


If you still can not get it up and running then you can always use a Cherry Rank avitar like I have on mine. Just right click and Save Image Location then Paste in the Avitar location.

you don't necessarily need to resize. Load a picture to the gallery here and then right click on the picture and select 'copy image location'. Paste that into the avatar spot in the user control panel.

Use 100X100 as the size.
